Try adding chocolate chips!
We have ordered these before (at Passover) and yes they are pricey, but they taste great and are so convenient as a Seder dessert. The grocery store price (if you find a market that carries these cakes) was almost the same. The boxes arrived I great shape. Thumbs up to the seller.

Expensive but very good cake
This year for Passover I bought a few traditional foods. My one complaint about Manischewitz products is their heavy hand with the salt. People who want more salt in things like the potato pancakes and matzo ball soup can always add some but for those of us who have to watch our sodium, we can't take it out. Even this cake could have had less sodium. For Passover, I made both boxes at one time. I added some kosher chocolate chips on top just before placing in the oven. Other than that, I followed instructions. After cooling and frosting, one was eaten during Passover and the other placed in a zippered freezer bag and put in the freezer. Leaving in the baking pan is great for freezing. You can take out one piece at a time if that's all you want or defrost the entire cake to serve. These cakes are really very good. I'm back buying more, not for any holiday, but just because they were so good and so easy to freeze. Then when I have that overpowering craving for something sweet, I can take out a small piece of cake or more if others want some too. That makes them convenient, as well as, tasty. Now, as for the price, they are small cakes and probably cost twice as much as any other cake mix. Each box does include the frosting and the small foil baking pan which mitigates some of the additional expense. Their convenience and ease of freezing -- well, I guess I feel that's worth a little extra.

Delicious!
I made 2 for Passover this year. I did add an extra egg to the recipe and used EVOO. They were surprisingly moist. The cake is very rich so a little goes a long way.
