I bought these knowing I would need to cut a couple of them up for my project. Both the ones I cut and the ones I didn't worked great. Length note - with LED strips, brightness will diminish with length and number of LEDs in the strip. Be careful with how many extensions are used and be ready for less bright LEDs the further away they are from the controller. Inside: There are small individual coated wires inside the outer sleeve. You can cut these, strip the outer sleeve off, then (carefully) strip the individual wires inside. The wires are stranded copper wire when you get down into them, and can be soldered directly onto the LED strip contacts when doing a custom job like mine. This was nice because the colors matched and I could pick and choose where to leave one of the pre-made ends on. Be sure to protect these with heat shrink tubing, as they are small, delicate wires you wouldn't want to leave exposed. Outside: When not cutting them up, the wires are still soft and comfortably flexible, but not limp. The connectors did not feel loose. All cable ends are female, but come with male to male couplers. There is a small triangle on the connector, indicating the common wire, so you can keep track of orientation.

Got this to extend my led light strip for the outside of the house, it was way longer than needed but the shorter one would have taken an extra few days and I had someone coming by so I couldn’t delay it. Worked out nice, just had to coil the extra length up and hide it. Love that there was no cutting and having to put the connector pieces on myself.

These extensions work but their design leaves a bit to be desired. First problem is that there is absolutely zero retention -- the connectors will part from the LED strips with little or no provocation, gravity for example, so you will need to find some way to physically maintain contact. I'm considering a dab of hot glue when they get permanently installed. Second problem is polarity which is ambiguous -- you can plug the cables in either way and I don't believe that they will work if you get them backwards. I don't know if damage will occur and am not willing to volunteer to find out. The connectors have polarity markings but they are essentially invisible light indentations white-on-white so I've taken the precaution of marking that side with a Sharpie on both faces.

These are great little cables to extend wire length. The connectors are sized right with no slop, and comes with male pins that are robust enough for their purpose. The arrows molded on the connectors help with alignment so the lights operate right. I used this to mount on a pontoon boat, then zip tie them under the deck. The insulator is sufficient enough and have had no issues yet. Would recommend as they are exactly what was needed.

Easy to install but light duty connections!

These made getting my leds lights put together and plugged in soooo much easier!!! And it was pretty simple to hook it all up!! Great purchase , will definitely buy again

Works great. Have 3 sets of light strips I connected around the outside of the house. Using these cords I was able to run through the attic to just to other locations. Perfect for a seemless look.

I ordered several packs of 2m and 5m cables for my outdoor decorations. Received all of them as promised. Assembled everything and even taped the connections together. Everything looked good and worked…except for one. It kept going out or not turning on with the others. I changed out the pins, the mating connector, even the power supply. In the end, it was a bad 2m cable (luckily I had a spare). So 3 stars for this reason.
