It's worlds better than anything I've ever used in the past------Update 9/23/16: No it's actually not worlds better :(
I practice a vinyasa class in a warm studio 90+ degreesF four times a week. My cheapo walmart mat was at the end of its lifespan. I bought this because I wanted a premium mat that would last and would provide an ample amount of stickiness. This mat has served me well in these past few weeks but I still slip quite a bit. It's worlds better than anything I've ever used in the past. What the consensus is is that I'm not the norm. I sweat far too much to have any mat save me and that's okay. As for the rubber smell, I quite like it. I can't speak for other practitioners near me but it's not as abhorrent like many other reviewers have described it.Update: After 32 1-hour classes, this mat is falling apart. I'm so sad to report that. I had such high hopes but alas this story ends in disappointment. The rubber is coming off in specks and they stick everywhere making a mess. This is happening at the top of the mat where my hands lie, the center where my knees typically are set, and at the bottom end where my feet are usually placed.

I have taken great care of my mat
I purchased my Jade yoga mat less than 6 mos ago. I practice about 5-6 times a week. My new mat has already started wearing (breaking down, peeling) in this short time. When my prior yoga mat did this, it had been after several years of the same use. I have taken great care of my mat. I have not used any abrasive cleansers nor left my mat in extreme weather temperatures. I’m very disappointed with this purchase. I had purchased my first mat directly from Jade, and it didn't to this until after several years of use. That mat lasted for several years before wearing. My current mat is peeling after less than 6 months of use WITH proper care. Very disappointed!

Best Hot Yoga Mat Out There
I've been using Jade Yoga mats since 2012 when doing heated Vinyasa upwards of 10 hours a week. I tried every other "sticky" mat out there, but when you're in 100+ degree rooms doing a 90 minute flow and sweating like Nick Miller trying to keep a secret (I've been watching a lot of New Girl lately sorry lol), Jade mats are the only ones that will keep you from slipping.

One Star
Great mat if it held up. But it is rapidly deteriorating. The rubber is flaking off as I practice. It is 6 months old and looks 6 years old.

Five Stars
I bought this after having taken 100 yoga classes. What can I say, I'm a fan of "treat yo' self." I like to think of this as an investment that is definitely worth it if you plan on practicing yoga regularly. I was debating between a Jade or a Manduka mat. They were similar in price, reviews, and quality, but I opted to go with Jade after I read that they planted a tree for every mat that was sold. It's obvious that the quality is definitely better than the one I got at Marshalls for $7. Also, it is a little heavier, which isn't a problem for me. Like other reviews have stated, there is that rubber smell, but I didn't think it was THAT strong, plus it has dissipated after washing and airing it out. I hope in the next few weeks it will completely disappear. This mat, while similar in thickness to my old one, provides me with more support. It also doesn't move around on the floor. Although I tend to sweat, I feel that I have more grip, so that I'm not slipping in downward dog. So far, so good. If anything changes, I will update.

Very Slippery
After reading reviews, i decided to buy Jade Harmony yoga mat. I sweat much and my palms and feet get very sweaty doing yoga. So i was looking for a mat that has good grip and is anti slip. I tried other mats which were less expensive but nothing served the purpose. I then found Jade yoga mat. Its description says it has "great grip-open cell natural rubber provides optimum grip". ".... is well known for offering terrific slip-resistance. As a result, you no longer have to worry about slipping on your practice mat--even if it gets wet with perspiration".Wow, seemed apt. So even though it was a pinch in the pocket, I thought it should be a good investment after all. Doing yoga in comfort is what is the priority with out having to worry about losing the balance due to slippery mats.Well, the description is absolutely NOT what the mat actually is! The surface of the mat is quite sticky and the back of the mat has a good grip to the floor. I was happy thinking may be atlast i found my mat. But alas, that joy lasted only a few minutes in to the practices.I did the downward dog posture and i slipped right through! My feet and palms kept slipping and did not have any grip. What i noticed was the mat is sticky as long as it is dry. Once the surface comes in contact with the sweat, it get very slippery.Such a disappointment! So i thought, like some mats, may be this needs some kind of conditioning for a few days. I contacted the seller with my issue and asked if i the mat gets better with the use or if anything should be done to improve its grip. The seller replied with this :"Unfortunately I have no further information regarding the yoga mat. I have attached a return label for you to send it back to us and once we receive it we will process your refund."Really? Thats the response! Selling mats with no awareness of how its supposed to perform?Ofcourse i am definitely returning the product. The mat may be useful for those who dont sweat much. But for those like me with sweaty palms and feet, this mat is a definite No No.

Giftig - leider...

Alles in allem also absolut empfehlenswert.

Perfekter Halt - Lieblingsmatte
Yoga rocks, so does this matt.

It's a very expensive camping mat not a car tyre!!!!
A very expensive mat, that has surprisingly good feedback. Be warned if you sweat during your workout this Mat does not have the traction you would expect from the description or the price. Cost me £10.55 in postage to return, following a workout session doing an impression of Bambi on ice. Was apparently very blessed to receive a full refund, because "I wouldn't be able to return a car tyre!". Errrrr okay!

Grippy when dry, but unfortunately not when sweaty!
This mat came recommended to me by a friend as an especially grippy mat. However, I used the mat for the first time yesterday and I was slipping about before I'd even finished my sun salutations at the beginning of practice. Admittedly, I sweat a lot during practice. Whilst this mat is extremely grippy when dry, I found as soon as I had moisture on my palms, that grip disappeared. I'd recommend that, if you build up sweaty palms during your practice, find an alternative mat. My search continues!
