The Danish Film revolution brought us “Without A Stitch”, an unexpurgated journey through a woman’s sexual adventures. Lillian is a high school girl with a problem. Her sex life isn’t what she wants it to be. Kindly Dr. Petersen tells her to relax, go for it and keep a diary of all that occurs. And so she does as we share her experiences with girl- on-girl action, threesomes, a little S&M, and even a quick episode making a porno film. And Lillian ends up all the more healthy for her trouble. Actually filmed on locations in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Italy and Paris, “Without A Stitch” became an international sensation by being one of the first films to depict a young woman’s pleasure at having a happy sex life. DVD Extras: “Without A Stitch” theatrical trailer. “Stitchless Women Around The World” Theatrical trailers for the for the following naughty films: “One Swedish Summer”, “Scandal In Denmark, “Inga”, “Made In Sweden”, “The Seduction Of Inga”, “I, A Woman”, “Exponerad”, “Flossie, “Sister Emanuelle” and “Nude On The Moon” CAUTION: Nudity and adult language. May not be appropriate for minors. Review: Cute movie! Not too much, not too little! Movie just right! - Cute innocent pretty young woman going though life.. getting a taste according to her druthers and making the most of it. Nice touch! Review: A Very Old Fashioned And Dated Film - I should probably say right away, to those that are interested, that this film is certainly NOT porn. In fact, I would argue that it is hardly even "soft core" erotica. Truthfully, this film is, fundamentally, a travel documentary and historical artifact, with a little bit of sexuality thrown in. In fact, my favorite part of the movie, by far, was seeing what Hamburg, Germany looked like in 1970. This must have been very similar to what the Beatles experienced when they performed there in the very early 1960's. As most of us already know, the Beatles basically "cut their teeth" professionally, and learned how to perform successfully in a public setting, during their extended stay in Hamburg. They must surely have seen and experienced the same slightly seedy, gritty, red light district portrayed in the film. All of these scenes were a real eye-opener, from the prostitutes leaning out of windows, to the singularly unattractive female mud wrestlers, to the pornography shops, to the huge and garish neon signs. This was an amazing glimpse into another era altogether, in a very exotic setting. But I should emphasize again that if you are looking for solid erotica, or even just extended soft core scenes, you will be seriously disappointed. For example, when people undress in the film, you only see them naked for just a few moments, then the scene cuts to postcard shots of restaurants, nightclubs, and boats on rivers. As another example, when the lead character of "Lillian" climbs into bed with her female roommate, they start to kiss, and then the scene quickly cuts to even more restaurants, cafes, and museums! This movie is like a tourist travel-log, with just brief flashes of nudity. When I purchased this, I had honesty thought that the erotic moments would last longer than just 20 seconds! On the plus side, the cinematography of early 1970's Europe is pretty amazing. There is plenty of beautiful architecture, medieval churches, quaint shops, and mod-looking pedestrians. Furthermore, many of the actresses are truly gorgeous. The lead, Anne Grete Nissin, is an absolute knockout -- and you do get to see her nude in several scenes. But the actual sexual interactions are very minimal, at best. By the way, it is interesting and amusing to see that everybody drinks and smokes, all the time! Even while driving!! For instance, the "photographer" driving the van is drinking rum cocktails and chain smoking the whole time he drives -- and then they park in the middle (!) of the road to have (very very brief) sex! What the heck? And, I was certainly stunned to see that the college dining hall has its own head waiter, wearing a tuxedo!! Boy, college dining halls sure have changed since 1970! Additionally, there will be some viewers who will no doubt be offended by the sexist themes of the film. There is a strong underlying message that the character of Lillian should be primarily focused on "pleasing" her partners. In fact, the character of the "Doctor" practically orders her to go out and "make men happy". Yikes. Sounds just like Hugh Hefner, at the Playboy Mansion.... Anyway, it is truly ironic that this movie is not nearly as sexy as the trailers that accompany it, as a special feature. In fact, I was much more intrigued by the trailers than I was by the actual film itself. That's kind of funny, in a way. Oh well, you may wish to view this as an interesting and colorful historical artifact. But if you are looking for something to put you "in the mood", forget it.

The Danish Would Do Much Better Sex Films
Danish sex films would get a whole lot better than this. While there is a lot of flesh on display, it is soft core all the way. What it lacks is a sense of humor that doesn't show up until the last third. The women are all beautiful and it is refreshing to see everyone relaxed and cheerful about all the sexual shenanigans. By the follow up (Since it was a massive world-wide hit) 'Without A Stitch II' the humor was there. Watching this now, the straight faced introduction is almost painful. Later, detailing the exploits of our heroine, things get more interesting. If you can stay awake that long...
