Raspberry-PI RASPBERRYPI-SENSEHAT Raspberry Pi Sense HAT with Orientation, Pressure, Humidity and Temperature Sensors

For anyone who might have read a misleading review that represents this as a computer -- it isn't. You need a Raspberry Pi 3, 3B+, or 4B to use it. It's a very nice gadget for hobbyists.

The Pi Sense Hat is an excellent learning tool. I'm learning Python programming with it and the versatility and applications are amazing. Love the 8x8 color display. I have used the weather sensors but not the inertial, compass, position stuff yet. I found it works great with the Pi 400, 4B, 3B and even works well with the Pi Zero! Highly recommended!

This hat will provide loads of fun and learning for any age! From the basic drag and drop Scratch programming to some fun code with Python, there are tons of projects to keep you busy! I purchased this for my own fun as well as being able to show students how they might start using sensors and programming automations based on the data returned. I'd say my only "complaint" (if you could call it that) would be when installed directly on the Pi, it is too close to accurately measure the surrounding temperature. I'd almost like to 3D print a separate case for it and feed it back to the Pi with a special cable (not a flat one - maybe like a cat 5 40 wire trunk of some sort??). Anyway, I love it and look forward to many hours of fun as well as fun demoing and letting students play with it!

Cool little gadget. It works great and with the python libraries that have already been provided by the raspberry pi foundation it is quick to get up and running. The temperature sensor is off, but all it takes is a little physics and you can get the temperature more accurate. The temperature from the CPU is heating the whole raspberry pi so the temperature is about 10 degrees above the ambient temperature. By using the equation t_calibrated = t - ((t_cpu-t) / X) t is the temperature given from the humidity sensor, t_cpu is the temperature of the CPU, and X is the factor you can use to make it more accurate. If you let it run a while with an accurate thermometer for the actual room temperature you can find what your best X is for the setup. I found for me an X of 1.5 was just about right. All in all it is way fun. I am using it to monitor the temperature in our green house.

I have wanted one for a while so I could try several projects for my raspberry pi but I was holding back until I was ready to start learning python. My daughter is in a coding class at school and they use these on a regular basis, and she had asked me if I had one or could get one so she could work on her projects at home as well. lol, that's all I needed to hear to have an excuse to finally get one. I played around with it and was able to make a little animated image dance on its little screen and watched as my daughter worked on several projects on it too. I strongly suggest having at least one of these if you are planning on any projects with a raspberry pi or learning python on the pi

Easy to use, and the tutorials are great to get started using it, with the sensor data, and LED matrix.

Really useful piece of tech. I'm new to the Raspberry Pi and Linux operating system. I like the the SenseHat not only for what it does but for the fact that i can test out different programming methodology and see the output immediately. For instance, the Sensehat outputs the temperature in Celsius and I wanted to see the Fahrenheit. So on the recall output of "t" I added ((t*(9/5))+32) and it worked. I wish I had the Pi and SenseHat was available when I was a kid. I think every kid in the US should have a Pi and SenseHat. It's not just programming or learning Linux terminal commands, it teaches critical thinking and promotes learning.

The thing is cute, it has good sensors, it's quite overpriced but that's the Cadillac of Pi accessories so I guest it is what it is. However its ambient senors are problematic at best. The temperature sensor would lock up after continues polls and only reboot would fix it. Also the rest of the sensors produce unrealistic fluctuations. Clearly inaccurately depicting the actual environment. Go figure. I like the matrix the best - its cute and decorative :)

Great board for testing different I/O programming on the Raspberry Pi. Works great with raspbian or windows IOT core.
