Works perfectly
Easily works down to 8vdc. I wish it was waterproof I built this solar motion sensing robot to chase deer away from a shrub they were destroying UPDATE: Still working fine. Some people say it won’t shut off. Had the same problem. Here’s why: This device switches the ground side, not the B+ side like you might expect. If you tie the grounds together thinking load+ will switch, it will not shut off. If you have three wires, tie the B+ together, not ground.

Item failed shortly after installation
This unit is just a really poor design. I installed it using a 12v battery and a 12v LED light. It worked on the test bench but failed after a few days of being installed. Don't waste your time...

Nice for the price
I use this to automatically light up the outhouse. The terminals are very close so I short circuited one and ordered another one. This time I crimped them using ferrules and now all is well.

Short Lifespan
Product was easy to install but unfortunately only lasted a few months. The second one I installed only lasted 24hrs before burning out. I wish it would have worked out.

Not 8 Amp device.
The part works as expected...detects motion. It is not an ambient light detector. Wiring hook up is easy. The bad is the indicated current rating. It is advertised as an 8 amp device. Not so. The instructions indicate 6A max. There is no marking on the device, other than voltage, to indicate current rating.
