Wreck This Journal (Red)

This book is a MUST HAVE for all creative and heck non-creative children alike! My 9 year old daughter approached me asking to purchase this book as she watched a video on YouTube with a girl who was reviewing a "wreck it book" just like this one. I was skeptical at first as I thought, why the heck would you buy a book that you intend on destroying? She started describing how much fun it is to destroy this book as it is intended to be so, I went ahead and purchased it for her. I must admit, she is a very creative child so something like this is right up her alley. When the book arrived she was so excited to get started she had already completed the first 5 or 6 pages. The book asks the reader to do things like; put on a pair of old shoes and jump up and down on this page, and find some kind of paint and splatter it on the page now slam the book shut and then open it. Needless to say, she finished the book within 1 week or so and told all her friends about how fun it was as well as my wife and I. The reason I mentioned this book is suitable for ALL children, is that those children who are not generally creative, or crafty will end up discovering a side of themselves they didn't even know existed and the book will guide them along the whole way! Give this book a try for your children and I promise you will thank me later. It would make a great stocking stuffer, birthday present, or just a nice surprise for any child!

My daughter had the best time with this book. I originally purchased this from Staples as a gift (the gray duct tape one). My daughter LOVED this book, she said it was the best book ever! She liked it so much, she gave it all of her friends as a gift for their birthdays (which is how I ended up on Amazon buying several). Her friends also liked it, and even one of her friend's brothers liked it so much, he bought himself one. I also bought one for a family and thought it would be a good "family time" book to make good memories. If you like being silly, this is for you. Some of her favorite pages were: Putting a page in your back pocket and washing it, hiding a page in a neighbor's yard, sell this page, tie a string around this book and run with it dragging on the floor, infuse this page.... honestly she liked it so much she said they were all her favorites. ENJOY!

I bought 2 copies of this book, one for myself and the other for my adult daughter; the thing about this book is - the activities in it can be done by any 3 year old or someone who is 103! This is some of the craziest, funniest, creative stuff we've done in a while ... highly recommended for group activity or just for something you and your best friend can do together! So what's the buzz all about? Each page in this book is an activity in itself. Be prepared to hang the open book to a specific page and invite the public to doodle on the page. Live near a cliff or water tower? You're gonna be asked to toss the book off a tall place ... and hey - start thinking about how to freeze a page, cause you're gonna be asked to this as well. Hope you get along well with your neighbors ... yeah ... you've got to hide a page of the journal in their yard. Collect stickers off fruit, doodle in specific ways, poke holes in the paper - and *clears throat and grins* - uhm .... you also have to shower and sleep with the book and document the experience. This is a hoot and a half, y'all! I'm only sorry my family didn't think of all this stuff on our own!

This is a wonderful and creative way for creative people who are stuck... Including myself! The pages are filled with crazy laugh your ass off suggestions to creatively get you outside your comfort zone so you can go back to your art (weather that's fine art or crafting or journaling) it's fun it's crazy out makes you laugh and it gets you to see the world around you in a different perspective which ultimately helps unlock potential ruts. It's also great if your depressed because some of these suggestions just make you laugh...and if your sick or going through a rough time this book regardless that's it's intended purpose is to help artsy folks think bigger... It has an "off label benefit" which is to help everyone get put of their own head and think about something else! Highly recommend it for everyone especially COW's and Actuaries that alone should be fun to watch them use their right brain!!! 😉

This is a great journal for kids. My daughter asked for it for Christmas and I had no idea what to expect. It’s basically a journal that you destroy in a fun way. Every page has them do something different.

Bought this for my 9yr old son and he is having so much fun! I hear him giggling as he completes each page. Great purchase!

My 13 year old asked for this and he was so excited to get it ! He threw it in the floor and stomped it several times and his dad told him “stop it your tearing that up” To which my son replied “your suppose to” he loves this journal and he told me “it lets me get my aggressions out to” so I highly recommend this journal to anyone at any age, I loved it so much I even got one for myself !!! It really is a great way to get “aggressions out” or just be creative, have fun and express yourself in new ways or even old ways. Get this thing, you won’t regret it !

My nine year old daughter requested to give this at a birthday party, but then told us she'd really like one herself, too. She has thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this book. It challenges her to think in unconventional ways, and gives her an outlet for creativity when she needs it. She enjoyed trying to think of a way to freeze a page, she requested some ideas on how to share a bed with the journal, and she dragged it across our floors to show me just how much dirt it could pick up (THANKS, GIRL!) Overall, it has been a treasure this summer and has help passed the time on lazier afternoons. She has looked to YouTube for lots of inspiration, there are many kid-friendly videos of completed journals.

Ce livre est très sympathique. Il propose des moments de détente différents de la lecture ou du zonage devant la télévision en proposant à la place des petites activités artistiques. Certes, on est censé détruire le livre au fur et à mesure que l'on exécute les consignes qu'il nous donne, mais comme le dit l'introduction, il est tout à fait possible d'interpréter, de détourner voire de désobéir aux règles qui nous sont données. J'ai décidé de le parcourrir dans l'ordre, et de suivre les consignes au maximum... Mais je ne sais pas si j'arriverai jusqu'au bout. La dernière consigne préconise tout de même de glisser ce livre sans autre forme de procès dans une boîte postale avec des timbres.

Bel libro creativo, dimensioni contenute (circa 25cm di altezza e 15cm di base): all'interno la prima pagina è quella classica in cui dice di scrivere il proprio nome, mentre sull'ultima c'è scritto "trade your toes" fateci caso se volete comprarne altri della Smith, perché nonostante quasto in particolare abbia la copertina rossa il sottotitolo è "to create is to destroy" e non so se sia uguale a quello con la copertina nera ad esempio! Spedizione veloce, arrivata ancora prima del giorno previsto!!

So inspiring! ...sounds like total lunacy but total fun..I have ocd so taking the book in the shower fills me with dread but that would be great theraphy..just relax & take things slow maybe a few drips!!...poking pen holes in pages..adding found stuff..scratching the black page..the ideas are limitless..this is genius!..I bought it for help with stress relief from theraphy..I will cherish it..buy this its the best book ever..if u have kids this will amuse them for hours! This copy is a bit larger than the latest black issue..& I love the tactile rough feeling tape on the cover..
