The Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt (Landmark Books)

This book is excellent for the Jr & Sr High students in their second cycle of Ancient Egypt. Mrs. Payne provides an excellent, and easy to understand journey through the history of Ancient Egypt. It is an engaging story, with literary license only in minor issues. The maps are well done. Negative - wish there was a timeline and the book was republished in hard cover!

I finished it in a few days. It says it is a Children's book. But it was an adult read to me. It was fascinating only 172 pages. Interesting history.

Excellent reprint version of what I assume is the original Random House Landmark book. A great overview of the civilization appropriate for 10 year olds and up. As an adult I found it interesting and new, solidified a lot of concepts for me.

While I personally found the book to be incredibly interesting, my 5th grade daughter did not. I am a history buff so it held my attention while we read it for a homeschool unit on Ancient Egypt. Her attention wandered though. The book is well written and filled with history but it may be too in depth of a topic for some kids. To break it up a bit, we combined it with other activities and books that she was more interested in. With that said, it did what I intended it to do. She learned and as a homeschool mom, I can't ask for much more than that.

I felt compelled to start teaching my children about their history before slavery. With the tension going on in this country I’ve always felt I need to be my children first teacher and will continue to do my part

We aren’t to far into this book. We have been homeschooling since February but so far it’s amazing! Very detail!

The book has an error on the Rosetta stone stating that it is made out of Basalt _ the Rosetta stone is Aswan granite. It was easy reading- fairly simple content

came fast and in super condition. Will definitely recommend this to friends and family. Thank you so much

Especially for those who are new to Egyptian history.......... Ancient life , rediscovery, images etc

I was looking for a book which speaks about the main Pharaohs from the rise of Egypt and till the end of the glorious kingdom. This record is quite elequently mentioned in this book without dragging every detail. The author also used interesting stories to talk about each important Pharaoh in the book. It was certainly a very good read.

The quality of the book is rather poor. The paper is thin and the print isn't too great either. Images /Photographs in the book are black and white.
