Very good quality. Does not support Meshtastic.
Good quality, low power device. Does not support Meshtastic though.

They're really good.
I had a few challenges getting this little guy to transmit and have data land up on TTN, but using the "configurator" helped me to better write my own code. These are great, they're very low power, they can process quickly and they have quite a lot of room for code.

I partially broke it
However, for $20 and this being my first project board choice to learn with practical uses. I'm gonna keep it and practice micro solder repair and wire it up directly to the chip to practice a dump of the flash. If that goes well I already have 3 more coming so I can dump functional code from one and repair the other. As the idea goes. Heltec's website download repository has a lot of useful info for embedded work with these and other Heltec boards. I found the pinout for the mcu there. So decent support. I may be an amateur but this have some fun levels of accessible experiences.

No support in arduino since the site is down
The board worked when I plugged it in; the two started talking. However, I can't reprogram it without the libraries/board files for Arduino. The site is down, and I can't get them, so these boards are useless. Not the amazon vendor's fault, but I need those development tools or this board can't be used... the links to the heltec.cn site all fail! The Arduino links rely on this working.

Works, but very poor quality control. Bad solder joints that have to be fixed right out of the box.
These boards work fine but I am extremely annoyed with the fact that both had multiple pins that were not at all soldered correctly. I am having to fix terrible solder joints, which I am not great at myself.... This is something that should have been done correctly before it was sent out. Poor QC. I am glad I can get them to work but only after fixing like 10 different solder joints per board.... Not ideal. Don't get me wrong I definitely need the soldering practice, but this is greatly slowing down my project and it is very annoying to have to fix something that should have been done correctly by the manufacturer. Will definitely be going with a different seller next time even if I have to pay a few dollars more.

Solar powered micro with LoRa and ultra deep sleep!
Perfect package for remote sense. I built a solar powered tipping bucket rain gauge. The solar cell and the on board charging circuit keep the lipo charged. The cubecell goes into deep sleep until the bucket tips. Then a magnet causes a reed switch to close causing an interrupt waking the cubecell up. It then transmits the event to a LoRa receivwe in my house which processes the event. Then goes back to deep sleep. 4 components!

Excellent range
Excellent range. I walked about 12 houses down and was still receiving my signal I didn’t test it further cause I felt no need as this was going to function flawlessly for my needs on my property.
