I've purchased a bunch of black lights for an upcoming party, so I've been able to compare them side by side. These are the ones that I went back and bought a dozen of. They're bright, and day-glow paint glows like mad. I'm sure there are more powerful lights, especially if you buy a dedicated plug-in lamp. But for screwing into a standard socket, these are pretty great, definitely stronger than the compact fluorescents. That said, these also have more ambient, visible light than the better fluorescents. If you have a small room that you want very dark with just some pure uv glow, the compact fluorescent might be the way to go. Note that, like any decent black light, they're harsh to look at directly. You can mitigate the issue a bit by sanding the bulb with sandpaper or steel wool.

They seemed to work well but they are stated as having 35000 hour life expectancy, that is almost 4 years at 24 hours a day. I have had one quit working after 4 months of NON continuous use.

Excellent bulbs! I burned these blacklight bulbs for 4 months 24/7 as part of eliminating fleas from the house. They are the correct wavelength for attracting fleas to the trap, and the bulbs fit into a standard household lamp. Not one of the bulbs burned out. Highly recommend!

Worked great. Made florescent colors jump out. The only thing I should point out is that although the shape is like a conventional light bulb, the LED's are all mounted on a flat surface at the lower portion of the bulb rather than in the middle. The result is that most of the light is projected out of the top of the bulb, more like a flood light bulb, rather than out of the sides. That is not a problem or complaint, just something to consider where to place them.

Bought these for lighting for parties, and they were a total hit. Had to buy another 3-pack when I realized that a single pack wasn't powerful enough to cut it. 6 bulbs in a 20 x 12 room really lit the place up very nicely. The glow was pretty awesome, just be careful that you have enough to make everything glow properly. TIP: You can't just leave these open without some kind of enclosure or pointing them at a wall (ie, it's the AMBIENT light that makes them work best) -- so put them in a lampshade, or point them at a wall. Don't let them glare in people's faces directly, it will take away the effect.

The products were great but UPS is knowingly delivering packages to the wrong address either because he cannot drive, cannot back up a truck or is just lazy. Packages delivered by UPS to this address are knowingly being left in other people's yards. We have a local bear population who will tear up any packages left out in the open...or thrown into neighboring yards where it is necessary to trespass in order to retrieve them. If you are currently using UPS you might want to choose a different delivery service.

We have a room a room in our home that we turned glow in the dark with glow in the dark paints. We used these blacklights which were great quality. They are on every night for several hours, for just over a year now and are still glowing with no issues. They work well and really highlight any glow in the dark items you might have. The picture I've included did not use a filter. The bulbs themselves fit in any regular bulb socket. We used clip on lamps so that we could move the lights around and place on a switch and it's worked great. Will definitely buy again when needed.

I ordered a 3 pack of the 9w bulbs I had one bulb out of 3 that didn’t work right out the box so got ahold of the company and they where very quick to respond and very helpful asked a couple questions and than shipped me out 3 new bulbs I would definitely buy from this seller again and I am very happy with the bulbs and the light they put off

When I first opened the box I thought I got the wrong light. The bulb is clear (which is not the same as the black lights I am used to seeing). We plugged it in and WOW! So might vibrancy. I have this is a lamp in my son's room with black light paintings and such and the painting looks lit up with actual light it's so reflective in the black light! HIGHLY recommend. Bonus: It doesn't get hot to the touch.
