Not as good as I was expecting...
I'm an ex-dancer trying to lose weight and get back into shape. I purchased a Wii about a year ago so I could exercise at home on my own schedule, and I've purchased quite a few dance games for that purpose (Just Dance 1-3, Zumba 1 & 2, Michael Jackson and Abba). I try to dance everyday, so I've grown tired of some of the games I have. I wanted to try something different. Before buying this game I went onto YouTube to see if I could find any videos featuring the choreography, and from the couple songs I saw I thought it was cute and creative, so I decided I'd give it a shot. I got the game in the mail today, and was pretty excited to try it. I just finished over an hour of play time, and I have to say I'm really not impressed.Pros:- Uses real people, which is kind of cool.- Good choice of songs for the most part.- Some cute choreography.- Something different.Cons:- Not challenging enough. (I barely broke a sweat).- Erratic points system: All other dance games I've played like this have a standard point system with scores from 0-12,000ish and with 0 to 5 stars. This game assigns you points, but no stars, and my scores have ranged from 18,000ish to 60,000ish yet I've received a grade of A+ on every dance I've tried. Very strange.- Mel B is everywhere! She has to give you a pep talk before and after every dance, and she stares at you while you're taking a water break. It's creepy. You can mute her, but you still have to look at her constantly.- Although I like that they used real dancers, they should have really rehearsed more before they record them dancing. The dancers are often not synchronized and even the main dancer forgets steps and is off on the choreography a lot.- Weird quirks to the game: 1) Annoying sound effects that you can't turn off. 2) It goes back to the first song on the list every time you're done with a dance instead of going to the song you just did or the next song like the other games do. 3) Between the loading time and the time it takes to "calibrate the remote" before each song, it takes a long time to get to the dancing once you've selected a song.- And the most annoying thing for me: The moves don't match up with the music on any of the dances I tried. An example would be to do the same move four times. With most songs, that will work well with counts 1, 2, 3, and 4 or 5, 6, 7, and 8. On this game they will do four of the same move on counts 6, 7, 8, and 1. The entire dances are that way like the person who put the track with the video screwed up or something. It's extremely aggravating because you constantly feel like you're off the beat, and part of dancing is about being on the beat. By the time I got to Disturbia, I couldn't take it anymore, so I turned the game off and came to write this review.I had high hopes, but I don't know if I can continue playing this game.

Just as fun as Just Dance
I purchased this game knowing nothing about it except that it was another Mel B exercise game and the track list looked pretty decent. Since Get Fit with Mel B is one of the better exercise games on the Wii, I thought what the heck, its only 20 bucks.I have to say, this game is a ton of fun. I've tried almost every dance game on the Wii and this is one of the few that can hold its own against Just Dance, Michael Jackson and Abba. The choreography is phenomenal (Take note Get up and Dance and your lame choreography) and its challenging. Even the easy songs will make you sweat. The five star challenge songs are insane. Commander by Kelly Rowland and Guetta, which is one my fave songs by the way, is seriously tough with its crazy arm movements. Nothing is so hard that an uncoordinated dancer couldn't do these and you'd give up, but everything will take practice. The other cool thing is that the dances are in the spirit of whatever genre you do. For example, the choreography to Commander is similar to what Kelly Rowland does in the video but is just different enough that it feels completely new. Ditto for Don't Cha and some of the other songs. After five songs I'm covered in sweat which is great. Mel B wants you to move and sweat and she seriously isn't messing around with these songs. The graphics are real people against videogame backdrops. The people are big enough and there are move indicators so following the steps aren't a problem with practice. Another bonus is the game uses the motion plus if you have it and it seems to help.On the negative side of things, there just isn't enough songs. I mean, I would rather have 25 great songs with challenging moves instead of 40 blah songs with generic choreography, but still its not enough. I don't think there is a way to download songs and it doesn't seem like you can unlock anything, which is a shame. Also, I wish the lead dancer was holding a Wii remote. Its mostly not a problem, but some of the songs that have lightning quick arm movements that turn sideways can be tough to follow with the correct arm.Otherwise I can't complain. For twenty bucks, this game is a steal and is better than most full priced dance games on the Wii. Buy it

lame ...too much Mel B interaction and you cannot continuous play, you have to select song after song in between the Mel B character saying the same stupid phrases each time in between
