This was recommended by a pediatric physical therapist and we use this rain stick during our 3-month-old baby’s exercises, and it works wonderfully as a distraction tool. It helps him refocus instead of getting fussy or crying. He follows it with his eyes right away, so it definitely seems to be doing its job, he becomes calmer and more engaged in activities like tummy time, sensory play, and other exercises. The sound is soothing, and the vivid colors make it very visually stimulating. It’s made of plastic so it's easy to wipe down, making it convenient for everyday use.

I bought this for a class of 2 and 3 yr. olds. They loved it, but then smacked it like it was a hammer at which time it broke in half and little beads went everywhere. It is a good toy but next time I will be ordering smaller ones for this age group.
