X502-1 eXcelon 500-Watt @ 2 Ohms Class D Subwoofer Amplifier

It is well built and easy to mount/install. Only one vent which I thought was odd, having said that it hasn’t over heated even in Phoenix at 110+ temps. Currently have it hooked up to a single 4ohm 8” sub in a ported box at 300w. Sounds great.

Works well, easy to install, and does what it says on the tin. I have it running a 450W, 2 ohm sub, and it seems to push it no problem, with all of the booms and the thumps and everything.

It seems be ok. Not bad but not sure I would purchase another one.

Excellent amp with quality bass going to 10 inch low-profile Kicker Comp C. Always been a Kenwood fan and I’m glad to see that they haven’t changed over the years. Not a teenager or in my 20s anymore and it’s been decades since I bought an amplifier. But I wanted something that sounded good for a guy in his 40s who just wants the music to sound good inside the car lot three blocks down the road. And this delivers! Took a little bit of time to get the settings right to get that overall desired bass which would work with all genres of music, so just be patient with it after you have it installed try different types of music at different volumes and adjust the settings accordingly.

After 3 months it stop playing. Not so good.

This amp powers up my 15 inch Memphis subwoofer great, powers it just what I need. Very easy install and even comes with an input with it.

I have 2 Kenwood Excelon amps powering 3 component speakers up front and 2 way speakers in the rear of my '98 Jag, coupled with this one a Kenwood Excelon 2 channel amp for my 10" pioneer shallow mount subwoofer absolutely amazing! All speakers except for subwoofer are Infinity Kappas. I'm hearing sounds I never heard before like the guitarist sliding his fingers along the strings.

First off, the footprint of this amp is small and it's thin so it will fit almost anywhere in a vehicle. It's digital so that cuts down on inside components of amp. I put purchased this Kenwood amp with a single, shallow mount kicker L7 10" dual voice coil and it pushed just enough bass to keep me satisfied for a few months but it just never pushed out the bass I wanted. Your neighbors probably won't hear your bass as you drive by with your system at it's peak volume. Not saying it is not possible just did not push that kicker. I think most of that is the shallow mount box the kicker was in(factory from kicker) . My opinion is there was not enough inside box volume for that sub, they have it stuffed with polyfill and that supposedly tricks the sound waves into thinking there is more volume than there really is, I think it's about making the cheddar and nothing else. I have a Pioneer 521ex double din deck . Maybe I'm expecting to much from a single 10" sub with a 500rms/1000 watt peak amp pushing it but I won't make that mistake again. Two audiopipe or American bass 12" subs and a 4000 watt or more Rockville amp . Saving money to install new system ASAP. Kenwood is solid amp but lacks the output I want/need.
