Home invasion, so after reading a book by Clint Emerson, I bought one of these. I can sleep with peace of mind. A door wedge is clever until someone uses something to dis-lodge it, like a ruler. Be two steps ahead of a potential threat.

The bar is made of thick steel, it is designed extremely well and the contacts are made with plastic so it will not scratch your door handle or floor. It's very easy to set up the size for your door. It is made to secure doors that open inward and super easy to use and remove. I feel it creates an excellent barrier that secures the entrance way into my home, especially at night when I am sleeping. I recommend this product.

I highly suggest reading the short manual for installation to prevent frustration like we had. We tried using the same holes as the previous owners, but the holes were warped. We just installed around it to keep those covered up. In the fourth picture is the bottom of the bar. You must press and slide the silver latch to adjust the bars length when accessing the door or securing it. The bar lays straight down when not in use, so you must hold the tip as you lay it down or else it hits the door frame loudly. As long as it's attached on the bracket after sliding the door closed, it will keep you secured. This will come in handy when we have children who might want to venture out when we aren't looking.

I have them on all of my exterior doors. Great adjustable bars that secure the doors perfectly.

I'm renting a room right now in someone else's home when I'm sleeping at night or just in my room more comfortable at the place I'm at right now.. we'll worth the money

The other day I left the garage door opener inside and forgot that this device was against my front door. It was time to test it and see if it would actually stop me from getting in to my own house.So I unlocked my deadbolt and now this was the only thing stopping me from gaining access to my house. I could open the door slightly, I didn't want to damage my door or draw attention from the neighbors. So I began pressing my weight against the door. It held. Then I did about three hip checks and walla! I was in my house. I wasn't using about as much force as you'd use tying to get an over stuffed trunk closed.Upon inspection, little button that lets you choose the height doesn't pop out far enough to make the product useful. The slightest bit of pressure makes it so that piece bends in and then the whole thing collapses making it useless. If that piece came out another 1/4" it would probably work as it should.It's good for a piece of mind. Kinda.. but it's not going to stop an intruder. Looking at the piece of plastic on top I'm sure that would be the next piece to break once they fix the metal height selector.Do they not test these things?
