An excellent product that delivers on promised for 1/5 the cost
I installed the Lantsun Spare Tire Carrier on my 2024 JLU Rubicon and am delighted with the result. I dont plan on putting a larger tire on, but I carry extra weight on the tailgate inside and wanted the improved support. However, be aware that the instructions are wrong in some places. Read on for my experience installing the Lantsun Spare Tire Carrier. - Identical to Mopar almost: As others have said, I found this to be identical in design and quality to the 5x as expensive Mopar version, down to the threaded holes to add accessories. The only difference is that a metal round Jeep badge is not provided, nor is there a recess in the plate to locate the badge. One can purchase the decal separately for a gouging $35 price or find another badge with different markings for $5. - Easy install: The problems with the instructions not withstanding, the installation was straightforward. - Great Performance: The tailgate felt more sturdy and rigid than with the stock hinges only. - How to Correct Misalignment: The instructions ask to add markers on the door and frame before the installation so that you can verify that the door is correctly aligned after the words. OK, so what if it's not?! The instructions provide no guidance on how to correct any misalignment, which I felt was a significant omission. - Not Torx Bolts: The instructions state the hinge bolt hardware through the new hinge reinforcement plate is torque. I discovered they were hex only after ruining a torque bit when tightening the bolts where the torque flanges of the bit broke off in the hex head bolt they did provide. Allen was a better choice in any case, but the instructions were wrong. - Shorted a washer: The kit was shorted one washer, but I was able to find a replacement in my hardware stash. Conclusion: An excellent product that delivers on promised for 1/5 the cost of the Mopar version.

VERY GOOD Budget friendly accessory
Was kind of fearful that it was going to be a bad version of the OEM Tailgate reinforcement. But for more than 1/4 of the price I decided to go for it. The hardware is good and the finish was good. Didn’t feel at all this was a bad product. The OEM version is over $700 and I was not that interested at that price. This is a very good version and for the price seriously cannot be beat. The OEM version has a depression where a Jeep badge goes and two of the visible bolts are black versus this one being silver. This does not. But I’m not interested in paying $600 more for a badge. Because this product does everything an OEM does. You won’t regret it. Watch videos and take your time. And have the right tools. It’s won’t be a problem. ALSO. Buy Synergy or another reputable bump stop. The ones that come with this kit are so-so and are hard to install. But the money saved shouldn’t be a problem.

If I had to do it over again I would not buy this product.
This product review is for my initial impressions of the product. The reinforcement frame itself appears sturdy and well built so I hope that over time this will still be the case. The instructions were not as user friendly as one would hope but with Youtube as a resource, I was able to work through the installation process. However, the instructions did provide incorrect information as to the tools needed and I had to make an extra trip to the hardware store to pick up the right tools, after having just purchased the tools the instructions required me to have. This may be on a case by case basis so check the bolts provided to see if they match what is listed on the instructions (mine did not). The quality of the bolts is also hit and miss. Two (out of four) of the bolts for the main frame were of poor metal quality and stripped during the torquing process. The overall install process is easy but the incorrect info on the instruction sheets along with the poor quality bolts provided made this a frustrating build.

Nice fit, hardware suspect.
Fits tight and seems to be sturdy and made well. The hardware feels cheap and is suspect so I replaced it all with stainless steel before even starting the instal. Instal instructions and good and easy to follow.

Budget Built
Identical to the mopar bracket minus the recessed area for the trail rated badge. I purchased off of eBay, 2 OEM JLUR fender badges for $13.98 to fill in the same area as the mopar one. Looks better in my opinion and less than half of the cost.

Just like Mopar at a fraction of the price
This works great!! It wasn't as easy to install as I had hoped, but it was straight forward and obvious how to do it. It was just tough. Make sure to have the right torx bits for your install. The ones that come with your Jeep aren't all you will need. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

Same as most said
The brace is good. Hardware is very soft materiel. Don’t push very hard and good luck getting it off without stripping. Also install a little high. It will sag about the height of general corrugated cardboard. Made my tailgate hit my bumper so had to lower the bumper with washers because I was afraid to torque the hardware again.

So Good I Bought 2
One for me, one for my son's jeep. Just as good as the 1k mopar one. I know, because my wife's jeep has it. Buy this and don't waste the money on mopar. Both made in China anyway.
