I bought an old house with old interior doors and one door had no knobs. All the works were there but just no knobs. So I had to always leave the door open because if it closed I couldn't open it. This was a closet door so I could 'nt keep the curious cat out of it. I finally searched Amazon for an answer. I am beyond thrilled with these knobs- they have an old fashioned look and were so easy to install. Just remember to loosen or remove the tiny screw so you can adjust the knob onto the steel shaft- the re-tighten the screw. Thank you Amazon - I love these knobs and the cat is now kept out of the closet.

This was a very easy DIY repair! I have a hundred year old house and this was the easiest repair yet. This fit perfectly, and was the perfect replacement size. It was so easy to do, it’s a high quality knob, and it works!!

I love the product but it is too large for the application on which I had planned to use it. I will save it for future use, however, as I may find another need for the same look and material. Reasonably priced, good quality, the finish for which I was searching, arrived promptly and safely. Simply a larger knob than my bi-fold door will accommodate. I do recommend the product and the seller.

We live in a house built in 1941. Finally, something is older than I am. The mortise locksets have the same issue that all have from this period. The threads in the knobs strip out and the axles are damaged by the set screws in the handles. I finally had enough of this. I found these replacement handles & axles on Amazon. They have a bright brass finish and like the originals are brass plated. Unless you want to spend $30 dollars or more for Baldwin knobs these are a good alternative. Until these came (and other units) on the market you were left with several bad alternatives. 1. Try to find another old knob that still had threads 2. Buy replacement axles and hope that would solve the problem (temporarily) 3. Replace the mortise lockset with contemporary locksets. This product solved my problem nicely. The only complaint now is the faded brass plating on the face of the mortise lock. I decided I can live with that since no one really cares as long as the knob will open the door. It is really nice to have all the screws matching the new escutcheons and knobs. They are Phillips head screws with new edges. As I need to replace knobs and axles, I can purchase these. I priced out buying Baldwin units and the cost was going to be almost $2,000 for my house. Ouch! I found out how many doors the house has. I will be buying many more of these units. There is nothing wrong with the mortise locks. Now I will be looking for the escutcheons for the keyways. This is harder to find and install since the wood threads, being thin, are often stripped. I will probably try a small bead of silicone to glue them to the door. If you want to open doors without jiggling the knobs and you don't mind bright brass plating, then these are for you. I like them.

The installation process was easy enough as I have extensive experience with mortise locksets but i believe this would be true even for people with novice experience with mortise doorknobs and lockets. The knobs are light weight and would not break toes if it fell. However, there is a single screw that tightens to secure each knob to the rod and 2 of the three knob sets that I purchase experience a "skipping motion" while the knobs are turned. This after having ensured propper installment with triple checking. I am yee of little faith in regard to the longevity and fear that the screw may be of poor quality; possibly not long enough. It could stand a second screw for each side. Aesthetically and historically speaking, it's simply elegant, and am pleased with it's appearance.

Worked as expected! No issues with figment or functionality. We have mortise style doors throughout the house and the previous knob /spindles have stripped out and fallen apart. These were easy to install and appear to work well. I did put some blue Loc Tite on the set screws as they always loosen without it. Saves a headache down the road. I used Loc Tite on a few I replaced some years ago and those haven’t loosened up yet!
