I used this for my backyard gate since the old original latch got rusted. The latch is well designed, and the mounting brackets fit perfectly, even stronger than the old one. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the gate latch and its fair price. It is also very easy to install, I just followed the step and done the job by my own.

I was looking for something a bit more durable than the lower grade units, e.g. the ones with the string through the fence. This was easy to install, far more durable than what was there.

I installed this latch on my new custom 53 inch wide gate. My only wish is the hardware bolts were longer to make a very secure latch. I went to hardware store and purchased stainless steel 1 1/2cinch long wood lag bolts.All perfect now,

This was the type I needed so I could padlock my gate from either side but it was too short. Wouldn't clear the wood enough for the hole to be available to put a padlock on. Had to return.

I purchased a walk gate kit for my wooden fence but could never get the latch that came with the gate kit to function properly. I saw these on a friends gate, in fact he had five gates outfitted with these, so I purchased it. Outstanding decision, the only reason I gave it a star drop on the installation is because it is quite a bit bulkier than the previous latch and required some wood shaving on the post. Good product.
