Good
This crisper is a time and life saver. The wires go in super easy and you can easily verify the wires are lined up right before crimping. You get perfect crimps every single time. Therefore crisper also cut the wires perfectly so that the plug fits perfectly

If you regularly run cable, you need it.
Worth it every time. There's no guessing if your pattern is right through cloudy connectors, and with UTP you are guaranteed to perfectly crimp to jacket every single time. Just get the wire through the connector, give 'em a twist like stranded copper, pull the jacket tight to the wire dividers in the connector and then pull it through the crimper. Keeping that tension on the wire bundle does help the sheer on the crimper cut better. If you don't have any tension on the wire it can leave a little bit of proud material on the front of the connector. It'll save you time, mistakes, and offer a perfect connection end every time.

Perfect
This is a review of four related products purchased here on Amazon. 1. Klein Tools VDV826-703 Pass-Thru™ Modular Data Plug, CAT6, 50-Pack (ASIN B076PRM7W8) 2. Klein Tools VDV226-005 Compact Pass-Thru™ Modular Crimper (ASIN B07R3GK9FQ) 3. Soft Plastic Ethernet RJ45 Cable Connector Boots by Copapa (ASIN B07219KGC4) 4. H!Fiber 1Gbe Ethernet Network Adapter (ASIN B074PPRQQK) I’m using CAT 6 UTP (23 AWG) that I bought from a local home center. 1. I found the Klein Tools VDV826-703 Pass-Thru™ Modular Data Plug, (CAT6, 50-Pack) to be easy to use. This is my first-time using pass-thru connectors, and I have mixed feelings, but that’s not what this is about. The 23 AWG wires fit in snuggly but did require a bit of convincing to pass thru. They are more expensive than some others that are available, but I know these will work perfectly, especially with a same brand crimper. 2. The Klein Tools VDV226-005 Compact Pass-Thru™ Modular Crimper did its job flawlessly. The insulation is held tightly in place, the crimp felt secure, and the pass-thru wires were cut perfectly flush. I still need to try this with cheap plugs, to see if they are cut just as flush, but these work great with their own. 3. While I don’t usually use boots, I decided to give them a shot as they make the wires look more “finished”. I purchased the blue Soft Plastic Ethernet RJ45 Cable Connector Boots by Copapa. While they didn’t cost much, they were very soft and fit okay. I wish they were a little tighter around the wire, but that can vary from brand to brand. Overall, I’m happy with them. 4. Once the cables were completed, I plugged them into a H!Fiber NIC (Intel I350-T4 chipset). They all fit nicely together, even with the boots. That network card is not the V2, and that was expected. The V2s are harder to find and there are no performance differences. The revision was made to fix a slight power surge during power-on. The network card performed flawlessly with pfSense and I was able to configure two LAGGs with LACP support. One to a Cisco managed switch, and the other to my cable modem (SB8200) but I’ll save those for a different review. This card is working perfectly.

Totally fine, for the price.
Overall, this is a fine tool and it's up to the task at hand. The cutter (on pass-through jacks) gets 7 of the 8 wires reliably. Not a huge deal to snip the stubborn one, but it's annoying if you're doing a ton of wiring. I'm sure there are betting (ratcheting) tools, but for the price - this one is totally fine.

easy peasy
as for someone who never done this before, my first ever rj45 cat5e cable worked from the first try. I was really proud of myself. Pass-Thru connectors really make it easy and cost about the same as regular RJ45s. As others said it does not always cut all wires and sometimes leaves a few wires on ends, but it is not a big deal really as you can twist them a little and they will come off. At this points I cramped over 30 connectors while setting up PoE cables for cameras and also did a few cables for fun around house. No failures, all worked fine. I found it very helpful to have one of these cheapo RJ45 testers and a $5 wire stripper.

Works great, solid crimper
Works great on both pass-thru and non-pass-thru RJ45 connectors. No issues with various gauge wiring. It's not ratcheted like some crimpers are so it's all down to hand strength, but the length of the grips helps with leverage. One issue I have with it is the metal loop to keep it closed never stays on, so I often find it popping open in my pouch.

Cool compact and convenient
I used this for over 50 connections in one day and it performed flawlessly.

For the perfect RJ45 data plug termination every time!
I like making my own cat6 cables. For years, I've searched for different tools to do the job correctly. SEARCH NO MORE! Use this Klein Tools VDV226-005 Compact Modular Data Cable Crimping Tool along with the Klein Tools RJCAT6 Pass Thru Data Plugs for the for a perfect termination every time. Previous brands I've used, there is an occasional bad crimp that won't pass on cable test. However, with this new setup it passes every time and looks perfect and solid. Take a look at the pics above. 1st the old method and plugs and 2nd is the Klein pass-thru data plugs and new crimper. See how much further the sleeve is up into the plug. This makes for a more solid and long lived data plug.

I've used a "standard", non pass through crimper for years. This is soooooo much nicer and easier to use. Much less fiddling, much nicer results. Highly recommend.

I always wanted a RJ45 crimper. This tool is perfect: good price, super easy to use and works every time. I crimp once or twice a year so I am glad I have this in my tool box.
