This item needs to be installed while installing tile. The back has a 4"x4" protrusion. It cannot be flat mounted. Need to be grouted in Review: Met my expectations. - I remodeled my two bathrooms, met my expectations, very good product. Review: Fit PERFECT where my old one was!!! - Can't even find these in stores! This thing is so, so perfect!!! I have an extremly old bathroom (1940s) and the old tile is still up. Well the old toilet paper holder had been broken and reglued with gorilla glue. As you can imagine - a huge brown line amongst a white paper towel holder. I was pretty screwed when I went to replace it with any other conventional toilet paper holders because they've shrunk in size and I'd be left with huge gaps around it since the old toilet paper holder was inset amongst the other colored tile. Low and behold I was only able to find this on desertcart and it fit PERFECT. Looks amazing! Also, to the review complaining about it being made in mexico...Daltile IS made in mexico. It's the real deal.

Very Tight Fit for Mega Rolls!
I have a mega roll of Charmin on this Daltile tp holder and it is really "tight" and doesn't roll freely so NO, it doesn't fit a mega roll. I am getting a Charmin extender for this to hopefully solve the problem. Very annoying that another reviewer said it fits a mega roll... it does NOT!

Terrible quality
It is a ceramic, in-the-tile, toilet paper holder. The two holes don’t align so the plastic tube is unlevel and the paper roll is unlevel. This is obvious to an untrained, naked eye. Should have been caught by the supplier. Now my work is screwed up, a return has to happen. Quality problems are the WORST.

Softness? What are you asking about? It's ceramic, how soft can it be? Regardless, easy to install and functions as expected.

it certainly doesn't fit a big role let alone one small from Walmart and then you have to pay to send it back
