I am about to start my first clinical rotation soon; I am thrilled that these cards are so well-made and water proof, and don’t seem at all like they’ll scratch easily. Very well made, which is great because I’ll likely use them even after nursing school. I plan to study them at home, but for clinicals I’ll only pull out the set necessary for each rotation because they are kinda hefty— that’s the trade-off for being so well-made and long-lasting so it’s fine! No need to take the entire set with me, anyway. There’s an index/table of contents and the cards are color-coded for cardiology, peds, OB/L&D, neuro, lab values etc etc there’s SO much there even medical Spanish! They are slightly larger than most badge reels I’d say, but not by much and they have a perfectly placed notch to feed through a holder if you wanted to put a few behind your badge for quick reference. They do have a holder that comes with it along with a hard carrying case, but I haven’t tried to put them on the holder it comes with. 85 cards ... but 170 SIDES! These are EXTREMELY well made! They are similar to an employee ID badge, just not as thick. That however, is a good thing as the additional weight would make them too heavy for scrub pockets, even if you only pull out what you need. I'm a sophomore nursing student, so I'm going to take the ones I feel I might need, Assesment, Cranial nerves, Diabetic, Electrolyte imbalances, Right/ Left side heart failure, CHF, etc. Taking so many will add up in weight, so the thickness and lamination is just right. They also have a lifetime warranty, so if the print does eventually wear off you can email for a replacement. I had one card that half was scratched and illegible. I emailed the seller (at about 8 am) and they responded within an hour. They apologized for the defective card and are sending out a replacement for it. I checked out another competitor, and the cards are laminated like when you take something up to Office Max and they laminate it for you. The border will eventually start to come apart. These are like a thin plastic. I LOVE THEM ...can't wait to see how many of my classmates have a set when we go back to clinicals after Break, as this will be our first patient week!
