We searched and searched for a good food for the Chin's. Most of the others have SO much sugar in them... then we got a recommendation from a popular "Read" site. It took a while for the little critters to warm up to not having a steady diet of sweet stuff, but now that they have, they LOVE it. Our big little Waffles runs over when we fill it up. Gets a little cranky if my Son lets it get too empty too haha. Great ingredients, no pngency and a great quality food. Would hightly recommend it for the health of Chin's everywhere!

Best chinchilla food on the market, my little guy loves it. This is the ONLY breeder recommended chinchilla pellet for a good reason! Always smells very fresh and like good hay.

I no longer have my chins, as one passed away and I rehomed the other so he would have a friend again. However, when I had them, this was their FAVORITE food (other than hay and rose hips, of course). No added junk, just plain, simple pellets. One of them suffered from diarrhea with many brands of food, including Kaytee Food From the Wild (even when I picked out all of the added stuff), but Oxbow never gave him that issue. They were happy and healthy, and this food definitely helped them to be that way. I don't like everything Oxbow makes (make a better hamster food, already!) but their chinchilla food is top notch and the first one I would recommend when I worked at the pet store.

8 years ago, welcomed Guinness (Black fur Chinchilla) into our family, he came with many question marks on how to take care of a Chinchilla as we never owned anything like him before (mostly cat and dog owners). We used to go out to the pet stores and buy him food that was riddled with seeds and treats, mixed with the compressed hay pellets. Over time he started eating less and less of the compressed hay pellets and more of the treats and seeds and became extremely picky with his food. We thought nothing of this, and eventually one day I noticed his eye starting to water almost uncontrollably. We took him to an exotic vet (because our little guys cant go to a normal place) and they noted that because he wasn't eating the pellets and only the treats it slightly deformed his jaw line and his back molars began over growing causing him discomfort (malocclusion), which untreated, can cause death. Side note** Chinchillas eat hay pellets to naturally grind down their back molars (Chinchillas teeth continuously grow over time, if they were to never grind down their teeth, they would grow into the roof of their mouth and cause eventual and painful death) After we learned that we were basically causing our Chinchilla pain due to the food choices we provided him, and after a week of tube feeding him like a baby because of his dental surgery we decided to find an alternative. We switched over to Oxbow Animal Heath Chinchilla food. It took him a couple of weeks to understand that his treat food wasn't coming back. But he eventually started eating the hay pellets again! I now buy this food exclusively for our little guy, and he hasn't needed another trip back to the dentist. Don't make the same mistake we did. Buy Oxbow Animal Health Chinchilla Fortified Small Animal Feed. It ended up being perfect for our little guy, and it will be perfect for yours. Guaranteed.

Complets en tout, ces pellets on donne un super équilibre à mes 2 chinchillas que j’ai récupéré en pas très bonne santé alimentaire (beaucoup de carences en tout) et maintenant elles sont au top. Merci à Amazon de les mettre en Prime de temps en temps car quand on en a besoin en urgence ça dépanne vraiment. Donc marque un peu chère mais utilisée par les champions pour les concours et sincèrement ça a sauvé mes chinchillas. Je recommande a 1000% (Avril 2021) on est passe de 27€ a 48€ ? C’est abusé !!!!!

Esta comida para chinchillas me fue recomendada por mi veterinario de confianza y no puedo estar más contenta con los resultados. La calidad de los ingredientes es excelente y está diseñada para satisfacer las necesidades nutricionales específicas de mi mascota. Además, se nota que a mi chinchilla le encanta, ya que siempre se muestra ansiosa por su ración diaria. Otra ventaja es que viene en un paquete de 10 libras, lo que lo hace muy conveniente para mi presupuesto.
