Great activity for a young STEM enthusiast
My 10 yr old grandson loved it. He assembled it, without help, and commented that it was just challenging enough! He’s enjoying exploring its various functions. I appreciate that it wasn’t something that he was done with in a couple of hours. Looks like it will provide some lasting entertainment!

Patience required, but worth the effort
Good things come to those who wait. Bought this for my son, 10, who is noted for his meticulous nature. He had no trouble assembling it in various forms, without adult assistance. As others have said yes, there are a million and three tiny parts and screws. If you are patient and careful assembling it, then this very much is worth it. If you are looking for a quick throw together then this kit is not for you. Learning the programming wheel has a bit f a learning curve, but the instructions are very thorough (and have a considerable heft for a kit this size). The robot in operation is quite loud, but then it's plastic gears and an exposed motor so this is not terribly surprising.

Great for kids who want to code
Kiddo absolutely loves these. My 8yo has a blast using the circuitry and creating new projects. All the snap circuits options work together and there are a ton of add ons for kids who enjoy coding. Overall really happy with this purchase, and my kid is too!

Fun toy, difficult assembly
My 8 year old loves this robot. The programming aspect is simple but fun. The assembly is a bit of a chore though. There are MANY pieces which you have to cut out of a frame and make sure that you get all the barbs off so the gears can run smoothly. I’m fairly good at mechanical things and it took me a couple of hours to make sure it was working properly. I would advise having a jewelry making snips tool, small screw driver, and sand paper on hand for the assembly. Those things are not included. If buying this a a gift I would make sure that an adult is prepared to help the kid assemble it.

Didn’t last very long and time consuming
Bought this robot in Nov. of 2020. Gifted it to my child who had a hard time getting any of it put together. We knew we would would probably end up building it, but still though he might be able to help with more than popping out the parts from the plastic. Despite this and hours of putting this thing together he still love it. Each time you want to change what it does it takes a while to take it apart and assemble it with its new pieces. Again, still loved it. He played with him him probably 4 to 5 times a month. We are a few days ahead of thanksgiving 2021 and “Wally’s” (we named him) wheels have broken right off rendering him useless.

Very difficult to make
Very difficult to make, even I couldn’t make it for my niece. Not sure how will my 9 years old niece would make it.

Fun set!
Got this as a Christmas present for our 11 year old grandson and he loved it. He has a number of other Snap Circuit sets we've gotten for him in prior years, and they are one of his most favorite gifts each year. All the sets work together, so this just adds to his collection of components and allows him to build much more than just this set. It's a great STEM toy that allows him to be creative while learning. Highly recommend this whole line of products.
