Rubie's Costume Grand Heritage Batgirl Classic TV Batman Circa 1966 Costume

Just wore this to a halloween carnival and got tons of compliments! OMG, I am so pleased! SIZING: I'm a size 4, (5'6" about 125-130 depending) and the small fit great except - there is a huge camel toe possibility here as the the torso is a little short but I worked it out. Also, I'm busty so maybe if you aren't this wont happen as the top part of the torso will lie flatter and give you more material for the length? anyhow... another review said the legs were too long I didn't find that at all, the legs were perfect! scored some purple bootie heels on ebay and POW! Looked just like the picture. QUALITY: it's a halloween costume not day wear so I got what I expected. its not going to last forever. However, I needed to steam the cape as it was very wrinkled from the packaging -afterwards - it looked terrific. HAT/WIG: I don't recommend fluffing the hair too much as it gets a little wide. I wish I hadnt done that and kept it all mooshed together. oh well.

I was extremely impressed with this item. I hesitated to pay such a large amount for a Halloween costume but, given the other reviews, I gave it a shot. I'm glad I did. The catsuit was of thin material and on par with what I've come to expect from catsuits in this price range. What I did not expect were the attached stirrups that prevent the bottoms of the leggings from riding up. This was an alteration I had planned on making myself. I was pleasantly surprised to note this detail had already been taken care of. The bat emblem on the chest is stitched on "pleather", not the printed on applique that I imagined it would be. The cape is of heavy satin that I ironed with a hot iron with no trouble at all. I've had capes so thin I was worried they would melt. Not so with this one. Given the other reviews, I had planned on cutting off the attached wig. On receipt of this costume, I was, again, pleasantly surprised. The partial wig attached to the mask is much heavier than I expected. It will need styling, as does any wig, right out of the box. Is the wig of a quality that can be worn as street wear every day? No, it is not. For this application it is more than acceptable. Initially I thought the belt was far larger than it should be, then I went to my reference photo and found the belt is intended to be worn around the hips, not the waist. It's still a tiny bit large for me, but the velcro closure can be moved. That being said, I am disappointed with the "pockets" on the utility belt. They are simply squares of yellow craft foam with no detail, glued to the belt. They would be challenging to remove without destroying the belt. All in all, this was a great purchase that, with a couple of very minor adjustments, will be perfect.

I ordered the size large that says it fits size 10-14. For reference I am 5'8" and about 165 lbs, usually a 12 jeans and large in tops. My legs are where most of my height comes from not my torso, but man did I feel different in this. This costume is nicely done except for the 'camel toe' problem lol, and that's just something I couldn't get over. It fit perfectly, not too tight, just the right amount of stretch, and not too thick but thick enough to cover your body nicely, but about an inch or two too short in the torso. The arms and legs were surprisingly long, but even just trying it on I was tugging at the crotch hoping to get it to miraculously get longer. I even tried on a full body leotard under it to see if that would help smooth it out 'down there', but there's a seam that runs down the middle in the front from the torso portion to the lower portion and it literally runs right up the crotch area. So this is a no go for anyone 5'8" or taller. I always look for sizing reviews so I hope this helps someone!

I bought the costume. Great quality (above expectations). Initially I was frustrated with the mask not fitting correctly. I put the headpiece on and fastened it under my chin. Mask too big and floated away from my face. I tried stitching it to tighten it. No success. Then went to reviews to see what others did. I say someone state that the velcro attachment does NOT go under chin but rather gets fastened BEHIND YOUR SKULL, under the hair. Game changer! It fit perfectly. Someone complained it got caught in hair while fastening it. Work around... put hair in a loose scrunchie until all set and remove it after headpiece is in place. GREAT COSTUME!!! Fit like a glove!

I have wanted a Classic Batgirl for ages, and finally splurged and bought this. I was so impressed that it came on hangers in its own garment bag. That’s where the positives ended. The utility belt is NOTHING like what’s pictured. The pouches are yellow foam squares. Just squares. They don’t match the belt at all. The belt is some glittery gold strap thing. The wig fibers are cheap and get easily caught on the Velcro of the cowl. And the cowl!!! It is sized for a child. I cannot close the Velcro around the back of my head. I studied the photo to make sure I was attaching it correctly. No go. I will need to make and extender in order to wear this. The ears of the cowl flop over instead of standing straight up, so I’ll need to insert interfacing or wire to get the ears into proper position. The cape is actually nice. The bodysuit is a shiny sparkly purple spandex… not sure why it’s not a matte purple to match the cowl. It’s also badly fitted, so I will need to alter it. It’s made to be worn by someone whose measurements are the same at bust, waist, and chest. To same I’m disappointed is an understatement. I have a good bunch of work hours ahead to get this into the condition it should have been out of the box.

I just received my 1966 Batgirl costume. I would like to say first, that it came fast and the package was in great shape... thankyou. However, my issue is with the item itself. I know that you are using stock images from the manufacturer, and that the "burger your order rarely looks like the one on the menu", but I am not far off by saying the product I received looks nothing like the picture listed. I will attach pictures to illustrate my points: 1. The wig shown is "Red" and straight hair with a curl at the end. Mine is more brownish red and such a curly tangled mess that I doubt I can straighten it. Not to mention I would be afraid to apply any form of heat to it. 2. In the picture the collar on the cape is as it should be with about a two-inch piece of fabric that covers the neck. Mine is a basic little silver hook that connect on the front of your neck and really hurts when the weight of the cape pulls it. 3. in the picture the Bat logo is about 5 or 6 inches down the chest of the costume. Mine is about two inches from the top and looks like it could be hanging from a necklace instead of being a chest piece. 4. In the picture the utility belt is clearly shown to have triangular "flaps" to simulate pockets. Mine is just four generic pieces of yellow foam with no detail at all... 5. Lastly the ears were stitched on so badly that they do not line up, one is near the front of the mask and the other is closer to the back. And they are both floppy and weak and just lay on your head instead of standing up like in the picture. In total I am not looking to return for a refund, I was just really expecting A LOT more for an item listed as "Grand Heritage Batgirl Classic TV Batman Circa 1966 Costume". So my questions are these: 1. Did I get the right item? 2. If I did, what can be done about these issues? Do you have other items in stock? Can better ones be ordered? Please let me know.

This is super cute. It’s a great suit if you want sexy but don’t feel comfortable showing skin (🙋🏼‍♀️). The material of the suit is thin and stretchy. The legs are pretty long, and I’m 5’9” with fairly long legs, and there was still an excess of material around the ankles. The belt and gloves are cute, but watch out for the Velcro, it snags on everything. The gloves are hella cheap, started coming undone after a hour of very lite wear. The cape felt remarkably “heavy” - made with quality fabric and lining. The mask/headpiece is the wonkiest part of the costume. The mask was way too big and didn’t fit flush against my face, the ears were on the side and pretty low on the head. The mask was sewn to the cowl/wig noticeably off center. Made the whole headpiece look off. Final criticism: camel toe city. The material is so thin and stretchy it’s really hard to avoid it. Even put tights underneath to help but the only thing to do seems to be pulling the legs down so the crotch of the garment sits lower than your actual crotch. This thing is too expensive to be sewn so poorly. Too bad, it’s super cute. I wanted to love it, but for well over $100 I shouldn’t have to do reconstruction for it to fit properly.
