Canon Filter Adapter FA-DC58D

It is very easy to attach the Canon Filter Adapter FA-DC58D to my Canon G-16 Camera; however, it does not have a solid feel when it is attached to the front adaptor mount. There is a very slight give when you attempt to move the lens adapter left and right. for this reason, I am giving a four star rating for this product. I believe that Canon can produce a much better lens adapter that locks into place, and has no slack when it is attached to the front camera mount.

I wanted to keep any dirt from getting on the lens of the G15. This accessory works for that purpose. You simply unscrew the stock ring on the camera, then align the white marks, slide on the adapter and click to lock. Contrary to what another reviewer reported if installed correctly the filter adapter does not turn once locked on. You then simply screw a 58mm filter onto the adapter. Keeping the filter adapter on requires a slightly wider camera bag. My only complaint is that for the cost, ($40+) a lens cap should have been included.

I bought this adaptor so that I could attach a circular polorizer to it. So far it was been great. Its light easy to twist on my Canon G16 and works without issue. The build quality seems adequate for an adaptor that is made from what appears to be plastic, but for the price and lightweight aspect, I feel like this was a great purchase.

I haven't use this yet, but I did check to make sure everything fit. The adapter fit the camera(Canon g15) ok and the filters fit the adapter ok. I did notice that a noticeable section of the viewfinder is blocked when the adapter is installed. I just use the lcd screen to compose my photo.

While this fits the camera itself well...Warning... the threads are very shallow (.75mm) and only fits some filters and very few lens attachments... and does /not/ fit the Canon wide angle lens adapter (WC-DC58A) without severe modification to the lens itself (shaving 1mm from the back of the lens threads so that the threads mate with the adapter). The WC-DC58A and this adapter would be a brilliant combination otherwise.There's really no reason why the threads need to be so shallow on this unit, especially when other Canon lens adapters are not designed in the same way.

Perfectly locked in to my G16 and moves with the zoom compared to the Bower conversation tube that does not and shuts down the camera. Though, it arrived later than expected delivery.

I've had this filter adapter now for awhile. i have two issues with it. 1) it doesn't lock in place. It can easily rotate and if you are not careful, it will fall off the camera. 2) When the lens is not at full zoom, the adapter blocks a large percentage of the view of the image you are trying to shoot. It doesn't show in the image after the shot is taken but it is annoying not being able to see what you are taking a picture of.

If you own a G series compact and want to use filters then I recommend this adaptor. Yes it is expensive but I have looked at cheaper options and they come nowhere near to the quality of Canon products! I have used this now for my hikes into the hills and confirm that my pictures are better now that I can use ND and PL filters, much better than humping a big DSLR into the hills!

Expensive but great quality. Transforms the bridge camera. Worth purchasing

Clicks securely and precisely in place, well made, let's hope it is as durable as it looks (I've only used it for a week now). But Canon dear - why, oh why it is so pricey?

Ｇ１６はワイド端が２８ミリなのですが純正ワイコンが存在しません。DIGITAL KING 一眼レフ用コンバージョンレンズ 0.7×Wide 58mm DSW PRO 58が安く手に入ったので試しに購入してみました。結果はワイド端でケラれる事もなくすんなり付いてしまいました。画質もワイコン自体が大型だからか、意外にも実用に耐えます。望遠端ではピントが合わない範囲が存在しますが、ワイド側を拡げたいためのワイコンなので気にしなければＯＫでしょう。このままでも使えますが、改善できそうな点として…全長が望遠時の長さに合っているため、ワイド時には前球とワイコンにやや距離が空きます。これが色収差発生（現状でも多くはないです）根絶の妨げになっている可能性があります。短くカットして…とも思いましたが、伸縮性のある内部構造のためちょっと難しそうな感じもします。マグフィルターなどを流用してDSW PRO 58もしくは一回り小型のDSW PRO 52を装着した方が良いかもしれません。

簡単に着脱でき、格好も気にいった。フードの代用としても使えそう。
