At first glance, this seems a rather expensive socket but on further examination, it helps to justify this. It has a 25-year guarantee from a well-established supplier which shows confidence in the product. It has a slim profile and well marked up terminals and is supplied with medium length fixing screws. It is an RJ45 cat 6 socket with a sprung shutter over the socket to keep the dust away. It fits onto a standard box but has a two-piece design with a clip-on border. The securing screws are concealed beneath it which improves the look and when redecorating you can remove the border without disturbing the main switch to paint behind it. The socket operates positively in use and it does have a feeling of quality as a whole. This is a good design but a significant premium over alternative offerings however it is likely to give long service and look nice doing it.

This is a great Ethernet socket, built well there is a 25 year Warranty on it so if it breaks in that time then it can be sent back for a new one which gives me a great peace of mind when using it as I know its not just another cheap Chinese product which will break in the next month

The socket has a gentle downward angle, so your connected network cable does not protrude out for better-looking cable management. It eye-pleasing the faceplate screws are invisible, as part of all the MK Essential products. No need to punch-down the cables when you are connecting, there is a neat plastic push down clip which will do the same function. You can location and home all eight cooper wires to the correct colour coding, and then press down. You can I found remove the module part, you do this by using a flat blade screwdriver, and it will release from the main faceplate. This way connecting the cables can be more comfortable, so you don't need to lye on the floor. I found the Cat6 module, not high quality, and the separator fins are flimsy feeling. There are no supplied instructions which for this kind of IT product is a must provided part.

It is high quality and professionally made MK Essentials Data Socket.I like that it is sturdy and believe that I won't need a new one for many years because,manufacturer gives 25 year guarantee.Also,I like the slim design of this data socket,looks really stylish. To install this Data Socket was easy ,fits in a standard box without problem.To connect wires also very easy,because I did not need any tools and here is clear printed instruction where to connect them,really helpful.Definitely recommend,good value for money.

This is certainly a good quality Cat6 socket, with hidden screws (supplied), but very expensive compared to other brands. You could almost buy 4 for this price. Although you do get a 25 year warranty with it It fits to a standard sized box and has a slide back cover to help prevent dust getting into the port. The front plate that hides the screws just clips on & off. Can't really fault it apart from the high price.

This is made to the usual high MK standard. It’s relatively easy to make the connections, given the angled terminals, and complete the installation. It looks smart too, especially being so slim for a plastic unit. I love the clip-on cover, hiding the screw heads and making re-decoration of the wall a doddle. It comes with a 25-year guarantee but is very expensive, currently £20.19, so I’m going to deduct a star.

I so wanted this to work as all other power sockets and switches in the house are MK Essentials range. It has a semi-removable/built in RJ45 jack which is awkward in comparison to a standard removable RJ45 Keystone Jack and makes it difficult to ensure 8 wire contact. Have had a high failure rate for the 20+ ordered to date, whether this is lack of proper wire insert connection or the jack itself is hard to tell. Trying out another brand. Supplier has been very good.
