These are the ones to get!! I was searching for a quantity of irrigation retaining pins for a project but didn’t want/need to spend a fortune doing it but wanted the highest quality. After diligent research and reading every review from customers and manufacturers on every pin product Amazon had to offer I decided to make the purchase of these pins and I’m glad I did. I purchased a package of the major brand for comparison and they are very well made but VERY expensive and not a realistic value. These pins are everything you could ask for and they are also made in the good old USA. These pins are of the highest quality and are measured at the stated length of 6” and are extremely strong. These are every bit as good or better in my opinion than the “Major” supplier of irrigation projects but these are priced realistically. I also like the fact these Pins have a squared off top that allows two hoses next to each other to be pinned better because Brand X product (though excellent quality) is rounded. The squared top was also much more comfortable on the palm of my hand and did not dig in as much. These pins are packaged in a heavy duty cardboard box perfect for the work-site and for storing unused quantities and I received them on the expected delivery date (thank you Amazon). I highly recommend these pins for their quality and value.

I use a lot of landscaping fabric around here. I'm always planning and plotting more gardens and orchards. I've ordered these staples many times and they always come quickly and in perfect condition. They're easy to use and really keep my landscaping fabric in place. Even after super high winds. They're very sturdy. I have clay soil so it's best for me to use these after a good rain. They'll go into my soil easier and then, when the clay dries, it bakes them in. LOL I hope this was helpful.

These massive 11-gauge staples make me want to go out and start a new project! They are so much better than the landscaping staples that I (used to) make by hammering 16 gauge wire in a squared-off U around a 2 x 4. These staples are ideal for tacking down landscaping cloth and securing low-pressure irrigation lines. Highly recommend if you like working with quality. Update: Jan 10, 2016. Used the staples for the first time today to tack down some landscaping cloth and they work perfectly for this job! I love the fact that they are over-engineered. I am spoiled now so I had to order another box! Update May 22, 2018: As should be expected, these staples do rust over time. For those that can't abide this, there IS a galvanized version. .

These staples worked great for me. I used them to secure a geo textile material I installed in my new patio area to keep the limestone fines seperated from the soil. I needed to hold the geo textile material in place for a few days until my limestone could be delivered. It was very windy and the boards I had placed around the area were not keeping the material in place very well. My patio area is 18 feet by 21 feet. This large of an area covered with basically a tarp wanted to act a lot like a sail whenever the wind picked up. I used the landscape staples to keep this from happening. I did not spare any in pounding these in. I went about every four feet and staggered the staples to give extra strength. They worked like a charm. My geo textile material stayed right were I needed it to. It also stayed in place extremely well as I shoveled four inches of limestone base on top of it and ran a plate compactor over it several times. I am very pleased with these staples. I am planning to work on my mulched areas around my home and when I replace the landscape fabric I plan to purchase these again for that purpose. I live in the southwest where there is little rain and where water conservation is essential. I therefore have a garden drip irrigation system which is composed of multiple rubber emitters that supply water to each individual shrub or perennial. The problem with these emitters is that they often will not stay in one place and sometimes as a result of torque become directed away from the plants they are intended to water. I recently bought a box of the 5 Star staples and found that they have resolved the problem inexpensively. The staples are of excellent quality and they are very easy to install. My emitters are now all secured firmly in place. I'm sure there are many other uses for these staples and I recommend them.

I ordered 4 of these and was glad I did. When I started buying the material you put on the ground to keep the ugly weeds from growing thru, they came with a very limited amount of staples. I got lucky at that time and got some good staples. Unfortunately I ran out. Got some from the local hardware store, they were expenesive and flat rather than like a nail to help penetrate the ground. Worthless junk. I purchased these with next day delivery, they arrived, tips weren't blunt, went into the ground nice and easy and when small rocks were in the way I was able to pound them into the ground. These staples are perfect and working out great....better than the originals that I found and 100 per box. If you are getting your rolls from Costco or Sam's Club, what comes with it won't last so order a couple of these boxes 4'x220' you'll need more staples. Depending how well you will bury everything you may need more staples than just a couple. Better to have too many than not enough.

The squirrels take great joy in digging up the flowers in my planters. I found some screens with large holes, cut them to fit, and stapled them into the soil, then covered the screen with mulch! Squirrels got so cross that they couldn't get into the pots, so they dug up the bushes instead!
