Great!! Exactly what I was looking for!
Me and my partner often eat on the couch while watching TV. I was hesitant to get a lift top coffee table for fear of it accidentally falling or crashing dropping food or plates. This table was too cheap to pass up and so I ordered it. It’s perfect! Easy to assemble and great sturdy materials. The top comes preconfigured so after attaching it lifts and operates normal. It locks in the upright position which is great since it won’t just fall when you put weight on it or bump into it. I wouldn’t put a lot of weight on it since it is only rated for 40lbs but it definitely can hold food, drink, and decoration without issue. Time will tell how it holds up but overall we give it a 10/10

Good quality - tricky assembly
I decided to purchase mainly for three reasons: 1. All wood; no particle board 2. Folds up 3. Black finish It scores on all three of those, but assembly was a bit tricky. First off, a few scuffs existed on the top surface piece because the protection in the box could have been better. The box looked like it had been opened and re-taped so maybe it was re-packaged at one point. Assembly went pretty smooth until the final step where the sides need to get bolted to the top piece, which includes the folding top surface. For this step, you have four bolts (four corners) that need to be tightened with a slippery little hex wrench while the top is unfolded and lying on the floor sideways and its not easy to see the bolt holes in the inside corners and the clearance is tight inside for tightening the hex bolts. I needed a flashlight and a lot of patience for this last step, but I have to say I like it. It fits with my decor - I like the black finish, it is real wood and in the tight space I have for it between my couch and wood stove. I also like that it has some storage space for books, etc inside and under the folding top and it actually worked out perfectly for my situation. Also, I have to say that the folding top needed some some WD-40 on the hinging points and a bit of moving it up and down to loosen it up so the top would lift fairly easily. The top was very stiff at first and did not move easily, but now it works great! Rick

Really Nice and Good for the Money
This is a nice solid wood table. It is real varnished wood, not particle board or engineered wood. The table uses cam locks to hold it together, which makes for sturdy and tight construction if you follow instructions and make sure you fasten them carefully and thoroughly. Putting it together isn't too bad as long as you follow instructions and don't let yourself get overwhelmed. The finish is nice but i do feel like it will scratch fairly easily if you aren't careful. I recommend putting a table runner or a couple of really nice cloth placemats on it to protect the top. The lift top is nice and practical for storage

Great table
I didn’t expect this to be as good as it is! My son assembled it quickly and easily. It’s much sturdier than I expected. The finish is nice. I use it as an all purpose desk, use my laptop on it and use it as an eating space. I have my supplies in baskets beneath it. I also have supplies and papers etc in the under top compartment. The surface sometimes gets cluttered and then some stuff conveniently falls off into the compartment so it’s sort of a self cleaning table top LOL!!! It has feet that slide with just the right amount of friction on my laminate floors which I appreciate as I shift it’s position often. I know if company comes I can quickly stash the stuff on top and lower the top and have a normal looking coffee table. The only negative is that the stabilizing structure for the top does not allow reaching into the compartment as easily from the sitter’s side as from the far side. The other possible negative is the height of the raised table is not very high. I’ve become accustomed to it so it works for me. A pretty great product overall for this price.

Love the table!
I was pleasantly surprised to see the top part with the hinges was already assembled. This made the assembly very easy. The only slightly challenging part were the four screws in the corners of the storage area. I would recommend a longer handled allen wrench then what's provided. I did it with the small wrench provided but it was hard and it took a while to get them tight. I wanted a smaller one and this 38 inch table fits in perfectly with my living room. The top comes up very easily and locks in place and you just have to pull a screw like thing (don't know what to call it) in the storage area to put it down. It goes down and lifts up very easily with one hand. It's very sturdy and was received without any damage. I was able to get good size baskets for underneath. I would highly recommend the table if you're on a budget. It looks much more expensive than what I paid.

Decent Enough Little Table
Needed a coffee table for my den, and wanted one that could rise up to meet me if I ever wanted to eat or get some work done while watching TV. This table serves that purpose wonderfully. The top of the coffee table with the lift mechanism comes pre-assembled, so putting the whole thing together was pretty simple, and I was able to put it together myself without any assistance. (Though I'm sure the process would have been easier with an extra set of hands. The most difficult part of the process was tightening the four hex-screws that go on the interior of the table top to attach the legs. They're really close to the side of the table, to the point where I wasn't able to fully rotate the included allen key to tighten them. Pretty much had to go a quarter-turn at a time, which is a bit frustrating. I ordered the black one, and I feel it's worth noting that there were some imperfections noticeable on the table top. Look like drips from the paint or veneer or whatever it is they coated the wood with. They didn't bother me enough to return it, since I didn't fancy going through the whole process of putting everything back in the box and waiting for a new one to be shipped out enough, but they're very noticeable and might be a problem for people who plan to put it somewhere that guests will see it. (I'm pretty much the only one who uses the den, so another non-issue for me.) EDIT: After some months of using the table, I'm dropping a star from my original rating. The wood is just WAY too soft, and easily gets dinged. The top of the table is filled with dents after just typical everyday use. I don't expect the thing to to be indestructible at this price point, but it would be nice if it didn't get a new dent from dropping anything heavier than a table fork on it.

Real wood coffee table for a great price
Let's start with the good parts of this table. Almost the entire table is made from real wood not fiberboard (except for the inside storage under the lift top). It is a very sturdy table. Opening it takes a little effort but I think that's due to it being brand new. Once the springs wear in a bit it should be better. The table locks open when you lift the top which is really nice so it doesn't move. The color is nice its a medium dark brown color. The overall quality is pretty good especially for the price. Assembly was easy too, similar to Ikea type assembly ly just not as complicated. The directions are clear a d easy to follow. I would recommend this table. Now for the not so good parts. The bottom of the inside storage under the lift top is the only piece that isn't real wood. Its a thin fiberboard. I dont think it'll be an issue because I don't plan on putting anything heavy inside the table but I'd guess I'd only support up to 25-30 lbs inside. The only other complaint I have is that the support beam across the inside can be a little in the way depending on what you want to store in it. Overall this is a great high quality table for an excellent price. Id highly recommend it.

I'm super impressed with this $150 table!
I had some concerns purchasing this table given some of the negative reviews, but I wanted something made of real wood (which it is) and inexpensive (which it definitely is). After spending less than an hour assembling it, I have absolutely no complaints. The table is sturdy, attractive, and very functional. The only tiny qualm I have is that the sole plywood piece (which is the bottom of the lift top storage area) is a bit flimsy. We don't store weighty items there, mostly redundant remotes, game controllers, etc. so I don't see it being an issue, but there it is. Otherwise, this table is solid. I really like the locking function of the lift top; it makes eating or working at the table easier with no sway or instability. The table surface itself looks like a finger joint butcher block. I expect it to hold up well to everyday wear given that it is solid wood. I went with the natural color and luckily didn't find any scratches or marks. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this table and would recommend it.
