Review: It is so nice to have some on hand - Alas, I moved to a section of the country (Northwest Florida) where local stores here in the country don't carry Lekvar. It is so nice to have some on hand, even if the price is rather high. I made polacscintas right after my shipment came in and was transported back to my grandmother's kitchen! If you can't live without Lekvar, this will satisfy your cravings—for a price!

Simon Fish
It is a family tradition, going back generations, to make a yeast, crescent-shaped pastry filled with lekvar (prune butter) at Christmas. It just isn't Christmas without them. Living in Arizona, I couldn't find lekvar and would stock up on it when I visited family on the East Coast. I complained to my son that I had been lekvar-deprived for a few years and couldn't make the "horn cakes," whereupon he suggested I go on Amazon and, voila, there it was! The Simon Fischer Lekvar--the only lekvar my family ever used to make this pastry! Duh! Why didn't I think of that myself! I ordered the Simon Fischer Lekvar and was amazed at how quickly it was delivered right to my door! The jars are larger than they used to be, and they were so well wrapped individually in lots of bubble-wrap (which will be used for something else)! I am so pleased with my first experience ordering online and will not hesitate to do so again. Now, I can make my "horn cakes" for any occasion! Thank you, Amazon! Dorothy R.

FINALLY, Found this after soooo many years. My mother used to make Perogies with this in them when I was young. She learned it from my fathers parents. For so many years we have searched without finding then on a whim, tried here. Now I am making them for my mom. Thank you. A touch from the old country.

Pretty good
I made a mistake. I wrote a review of Marco Polo plum butter and I meant it for this product. This is pretty good lekvar, but not my favorite. Adro makes a product I like better, but it was not for sale anywhere, so I bought this, and now I wish they didn't make me buy three jars or none at all. Anyone want to buy a jar? It's good, but not my fave.

YES, I FOUND MY PRUNE BUTTER AGAIN!!!
So happy to find my favorite prune butter once again. It seems to have disappeared from the supermarkets here in South Florida. Although the price has gone up considerably, it is still worth it!! Prune butter is a much healthier alternative to most jams and jellies. I do wish they would omit the corn syrup and use a nutritious substitute. We all know that "corn" is GMO nowadays and try to stay away from anything with corn. That being said, enjoy it but don't overdo.

The quality I remember from years ago still remains
My family has used Simon Fischer Lekvar Prune Butter for making kiflis (Hungarian filled "pastry/cookies") for years and I was hoping the taste and quality of ingredients used hadn't changed. Good news: it's as good as I remember it when I was a kid. It's also great as a snack, on a cracker.

Love this stuff
Love this stuff. I can't find prune danish where I live, so a trip to Costco for some croissants, a little lekvar, and there you are.
