German WWII M43 Cap in Field Grey Wool- Size

I have bought 4 of these hats for my 3 sons -- yes, one of them has two... They absolutely love these hats and wear them for playing WW2 in the woods. They also wear them for cold weather and, really, all the time. The hats are well-made and definitely make boys feel awesome (I guess).

This cap arrived as it appears in the advertisement, and was the right color, right fit, and right style! I was looking specifically for a traditionally correct and authentic Jager (alpine) cap without markings of any kind and I wasn’t disappointed! Highly recommended for the discriminating buyer. Update: now that winter is here, I can attest this cap is wonderfully warm, (even when wet!) blocks the wind, and have gotten compliments from hunting buddies and co-workers alike.

As others have said, this hat is a very snug fit, (even though it is marked 'Large' - and I usually wear a Small or a Medium !) I can wear this hat or move my eyebrows - I can't do both (so it is warm, very good). I'd say the snug fit would be an authentic feature. An American style 'Jeep Cap' is a more comfortable fit. The hat I received is made in India (nothing wrong with that, it just is), and is NOT, (I repeat, NOT) marked on the inside period style manufacturers stamps, but has the Windlass company's logo sewn onto the inside crown. (Dry Clean Only it says on the cleaning instructions tag). And it is more of an Olive Drab colour than a Khaki. BUT ! There is nothing to complain about the quality of this hat, it has a durable look to it, does not appear to manufactured in a rushed or careless manner, and best of all, it looks authentic. The snug fit would also be a feature of its authenticity. There should be many seasons wear gotten out of it.

This is really a quality thing. It's the huge size I need, it's really warm, it seems like it will last. I think this is the hat of my dreams. Now I just need a cold day.

Unit is somewhat smaller in size than I expected- I ordered a Large, and I have a slightly smaller head than usual, I was worried that it would be too large- quite the opposite- it is really snug.. almost too tight. It is also a little darker in color than the example. Overall its what you would expect for the price. The example is perfectly molded , mine is somewhat 'frumpy". For reference, my head circumference is 23" measured at forehead, so if yours is greater, then order a size up from "Large". Shipped pretty fast from the source using USPS.
