Purchased this epic bit of hattery due to a review...you know the one. It has lived up to ALL of its hype. I mowed the whole hay field feeling like I too belonged in Mortal combat. Then I came home and mowed the yard...I was a silver bullet, the sun had no hope of touching this face. My child hates it because I look so amazing in it...even more so when I told her I'm wearing it to the beach. It catches a bit of wind every now and then so I may end up like Mary Poppins if I get caught out. Always wanted to travel though....

This is very useful for sitting in hot tubs on rainy days Your head and shoulders stay dry, but I wish it had a clip-on chin strap. It ties. I put my own clip on it and it works well for the purpose!

The mechanism to keep this on your head is not stable, one small breeze and this is destroyed. Also the straps are located directly over your ear holes, the material makes a ton of noise so this is pretty much entirely useless unless you want to be deaf.

Really LOVE this "Chinito hat" as my nephew calls it and wants to claim it. I, in particular, love the colors (very refreshing to see such colors combo), huge shade casting, and its lightweight and portability. Will use it for kayaking or long hikes... maybe on bikes, too? This hat is relatively big for my petite head, but I'm prepared for levitation when the weather's allowed. Among all the other kazillion umbrella hats out there, this one has a lot more character and uniqueness. Happy Keeping Cool! ;)

So, I had to buy this thing. Kind of on a lark. It is fun. Functional? Dunno. As noted in another review, it's only held in place by a chin strap and that's not terribly great for long term use. As a sun hat, it falls a bit short. As a costume accessory, it's killer though. It is constructed like your basic umbrella hat, held on your head with a ching strap. It could use something else like an elastic band like other umbrella hats have, not that those stay in place well either. So basically, it's a bit awkward to wear, but a lot of fun and that's all I really expected out of it.

It’s an amazing hat with one fatal flaw. It absolutely does not grab your head or stay on in any other way but by balancing. I fixed the issue by adding a harness to it with four zip ties. Now it is perfect!

Great functiin of the umbrella itself! However, how it attaches to your head is like taking ribbon off a flower arrangment and tying it around your neck (under your chin). Any breeze will displace it. It won't hold up to a sneeze either.

We bought this silly rain hat for a White Elephant Exchange at the holidays, and it got lots of laughs!!
