Sennheiser CX299 High Definition /Bass-Driven/Noise Isolation In ear Canal Headphone with integrated Volume Control & Luxury carrying Pouch (Same family as CX-299/ CX300 / CX-300)

Buying headphones is a mine field, there are so many options and so much choice. In the end I selected this because I like in ear, wanted a quality sound and didn't want to pay silly money. I would say mission complete, you can buy cheaper but I am not sure about the quality with Sennheiser you know the quality will be good and unlike many headphones this is a decent price. It has a very comfy feel and fits my ear well (comes with various sizes) has a handy travel travel pouch that prevents knots (I hate knots). Overall if you want a good sound quality and a decent price I would say a good buy.

Decent earphones. Sound quality is pretty good I reckon, though I'm hardly an audiophile, but you can tell they're not cheap. Comfortable fit and handy little pouch.

Absolute rubbish. I bought these for £20 thinking they would be half decent. The description says "bass driven". They have no bass whatsoever and sound so tinny. I bought them for my wife for Christmas. She already had a set of £3 headphones from Sainsburys. When we swapped back to them, you would think that they were the £20 ones. Avoid these, they are an absolute waste of money. I would have left zero stars if I could. I have requested a refund.

Comfortable fit and good quality. good set of extra ear buds and the lead is long enough for me to put the iPod in my pocket. I listen to Rock. the sound is very tinny through my IPod. the introduction of a bass enhancer still made them seem very cheap. I have had lots of sennheiser headphones in the past, but these are my least favorite by far. I use them for my tablet now and not for music.

Great quality but the volume slider makes it quite difficult to control the volume properly.

I have always bought the lower priced sennies because the quality of sound from them are far better than most other earphones. This is a prime example.... I bought these on a whim as my other sennies had finally given up after about 5 years. These arrived and as usual they were of a great quality, and the sound is clear and deep so all was good..... A few days later I was at the airport and decided to treat myself to a nice pair of Bose earphones at £100......what can I say?........These £20 sennies are leave the bose standing! Better both in sound and build quality. I'll never stray from Sennheiser again. If you're unsure of whether or not to choose these.....please do it. You won't be disappointed

The sound quality is very good. I use it for heavy metal and rock sounds, and they work just fine. All the sounds are hear-able :P. The pouch is in good quality and its useful for storing the headphones. They last me now for about a year and they still look like new. Amazing value for money.

For the size of these headphones I think the sounds is really good - I don't understand the reviewer who described them as 'tinny', not at all in my view, and there is a decent amount of bass. However, the product description states that these are "noise reducing" and that is exactly what they do, they will reduce the amount of external noise but most certainly will not blot it out altogether, and if you are in a seriously noisy place then you would have to turn up the volume so high that you would damage your ears. Also, on a plane they don't get rid of the whine of the engines all that much. However, overall they do a reasonable job of providing good sounds quality with some noise reduction.
