What not to love: Amazing artwork by the notable Basquait along with the enduring words of a great poet in Dr. Maya Angelou. Furthermore, I have observed that our children absolutely love both the visual and stylistic metric structure found within this book. Interpreted, amazing and necessary read for kids!!!

I bought this book for my four-year-old for Christmas. She loves it dearly. She loves the frightening imagery and bravery written in the poem and also the jagged, strange paintings that were chosen to illustrate them. I am not a big fan of Angelou's poetry but this poem is very relevant for most children and it has a lovely repetitive quality. It's also a good candidate for memorization. I would recommend this for any child or adult.

Love this book by Dr. Maya Angelou. The artwork is awesome too by a very famous artist. My 8 year old grandson liked it and I bought one for him too. So, it's great for children and adults.

This is a wonderful book, both beautifully written and powerfully illustrated. I am a 3rd grade teacher, but I love this book mainly as a unique graduation gift for previous students of mine who are graduating from high school and remember me with graduation announcements. I love the combination of a gift that is both a primary book from their teacher, coupled with the larger message of the poem for the recipient who is soon embarking upon confronting life on his or her own! A very special and meaningful gift!

Even though this is a children's book I've only ever bought it for adults. And I've purchased 6 of them already. A great gift for somebody going through hard times. Beautiful illustrations and a beautiful message.

I bought this book because it could be seen on the bookshelves of most individuals interviewed on TV news programs. It is a child's book with significant meanings for all ages.

Must admit the illustrations by Jean-Michel Basquiat might be a little scary for children 8 and under. A good book to introduce children to poetry though. Maya Angelou's poetry is always easy to understand as she writes poems from the heart. I love, love her poem "In And Out Of Time". Beautiful and poetic. "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" will introduce your child to poetry and modern art, so I highly recommend as it will stir a child's imagination.
