UPDATE below... Jacks Organic Pinto Beans - I've purchased these many times and have come back to purchase more many times. They are organic - in boxes (not cans). Tasty, easy and shelf stable. Mostly I've received cases that are good a year or so out. In my opinion they are reasonably priced, high quality and low sodium. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. As a top 30 reviewer, I've been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon - over 6,200 reviews posted, those reviews have been viewed well over 50,000 times, including well over 26,000 likes. BOTTOM LINE: I pay for all my stuff, just like you do. UPDATE: I've purchased these over and over - just receiving my latest order. Was a bit sad because I received black beans and not the pintos I had ordered. But reordered. I will share my over abundance of black beans with the local food bank. Exp Date: more than a year out. I'll keep purchasing these - low sodium, organic, tasty - in a box - not a can. Win Win Win Win!

I regularly purchase Jack's organic beans of all kinds. I like they are boxed and not canned. They are really good quality. I am repeat customer and will continue to be. For some reason our shopper ranks are no longer visible - so, to give you a little more info about me, I am a top 50 reviewer (#30 the highest rank achieved). Those numbers used to fluctuate over time - up and down but I noticed that they stopped updating regularly - perhaps to phase them out. I've been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon - nearly 6,000 reviews posted, viewed over 50,000 times, and over 24,000 likes.

We LOVE these beans so much that we've subscribed to have them delivered regularly. Yes, Jack's Beans are more costly than most locally purchased beans, but they're a great quality product. And these Borlottis are a real value compared to most Jack's Beans prices. We buy other easy-to-find bean flavors locally, but these unique beans beat out the locally available ones in both their large size and their succulent taste. Similar to pinto beans but better. And they fill our bean serving cups to the brim! PS: This is my independent opinion, and not a solicited reply.

I love Jack's beans -- at least the ones that are not from China. These are not from China; they are grown in USA and processed and packaged in Italy. They are easy to bring with me when I travel, and easy to use at home or away. The package is easy to open -- but I find it necessary to fold the top of the flap down tightly to sort of break the surface before tearing -- kind of like you might do when you fold paper back and forth to tear a straight line.

We have used Jack’s beans - black, cannellini and butter - for many years. Great flavor and packaging makes storage easier.

These things taste bad out of the carton, but they absorb seasoning wonderfully and are delicious with a few basic seasonings, especially garlic and salt. So far, I've been heating a single carton of them at a time with seasoning, then mashing it with a mini-masher (kinda hard to find, but very useful), to make a chunky "spread" of "dip" consistency. From there, I can add veggie broth to make a soup, and then add other veggies to cook, but I've just been eating it plain and chunky with olive oil for now as a quick snack. Someday I will eat them unmashed (and I will add baking soda to soften them, because they need it), and eat them with pickled onions, which is my favorite way to make lima (butter) beans!!! These are a good product, though, and I highly recommend them to anyone and I also highly recommend to the seller that the price is brought down.

These large, tasty butter beans are easy to fix, low in sodium, with excellent fiber (9g) and protein(5g) per serving (about 1/2 cup). Excellent taste and so good for the body.

I was shocked when I got these. They are already cooked like canned beans. I buy beans in a box, I expect to get dry beans which is what I wanted. Nowhere in this listing does it say that these are cooked. If you drill down into the ingredients you can get an INFERENCE that they are cooked, but nowhere does it actually say that. So, I am paying for a lot of water and a short shelf life of only about a year. Of, course there is no return on food items like this. I guess I'll eat them. Haven't had much canned food since I was living with my parents 55 years ago. It will be nostalgic, if nothing else.
