Whales: The Gentle Giants (Step into Reading)

Well-presented facts that naturally lead a young reader to want to learn more about whales, and I admit to learning a lot about them myself. Clear and colorful illustrations, not at all scary, that depict the text and engage the imagination. Highly recommend.

This is a nice book on whales and is very informative. It's a good level 3 book and our 6 year old enjoys looking at the pictures as well as reading about whales. We of course love that he"s learning!

I read to my son who loves animals. Great informational text. I Would recommend for a first or second grader.

I think it is a good book. My six year old son can read it independently. In the "Step into Reading" series I tend to like the biographies a little better than the science books. The science books don't provide quite enough information.

My grandson LOVED this book. He has been into whales since his recent trip to the aquarium!

Great nonfiction book about whales. My son reads at a 2nd grade level and had an easy time reading this informational book. I highly recommend for an early reader.

私自信クジラのイメージが変わりました。クジラの種類や生態について分かり居やすく書かれてあります。小学校中学年から高学年の子供でも楽しみながあ読める本だと思います。クジラ漁をしている自分たちの歴史を恥ずかしく感じる本でした。

My 6 year old loves reading this to me

Very nicely written with plenty off facts about whales. My Four and a half year old son just loves this book and has become very fond of whales. Has Created a lot of curiosity for him about whales. Must buy!

Interesting and informative as most Step into reading books.

Kindle版だと横にして読むようになります。 特に不便はないですが、辞書機能が使えません。（なくても大丈夫ですが・・・） クジラの種類等知らない単語が多めですが、これらを調べることによって単語と知識、両方の勉強になると思います。 多読中はあまり単語を調べないようにしていますが、この本に関しては調べてもいいかな、と個人的には思いました。 ただ、絵がたくさんあるので単語の難易度の高さはカバーできていると思います。 クジラの生態をシンプルな英語で学ぶことができて楽しいです。
