Barry's Loose Leaf Tea, Gold Blend, 8 Ounce

This tea when used properly can be used to cleans the kidneys because of the amount of tannins. Nice dark tea, beautiful flavors, therapeutic quality. Recommend!

I normally buy Yorkshire Gold loose leaf tea, but Barry’s is much smoother and better all-around. I tried it out when it was similarly priced, and I much prefer it, but I’m too cheap to pay twice as much as my Yorkshire Gold, and that’s what it’s been going for for at least the last year or so. I just wish it was typically available at a reasonable price with free shipping. If it were, it would be my go-to daily drinker. There is one seller that has it well priced, but the shipping on one box doubles the cost. If you buy four or five boxes, you get free shipping. I’ll likely do that once I go through my current supply of tea.

Love Barry's Loose Leaf Tea, especially the Gold Blend! I made a pot of this tea for my friend from the UK, and he said it invoked childhood memories of teatime back home. I will not use any other brand of tea -- this is the best!

Very nice strong cup of Irish tea. Doesn't take too much to make a cup or teapot full.

I’ve seen several comments about how the tea looks. It appears to be rolled into little balls to me. When brewed, they unfurl. There has only been maybe less than a teaspoon of tea dust in the very bottom of the bag, and I have gone thru several bags. Which is quite acceptable to me, and understandable, given that it endures international shipping, and is a dry plant product. Flavor is very fruity, mild, pleasant and malty to me. But I am not a tea connoisseur, just a tea lover. MY method of brewing: Heat a 10 oz. Yeti cup with handle, Pour out about a half teaspoon of Barry’s tea into a Finum mesh brewing basket. Set it in the cup. Gently pour boiling water through basket. Lift basket up a couple of times until the color of tea is what I want. Remove basket. It may be possibly used again for another cup, depending on how much tea is in the basket. You can instantly SMELL it’s pleasing aroma. I do NOT get a strong tannin taste, unless I leave the tea sitting in the water too long. I drink mine plain, without milk and it is perfect for me. I think this brand is better than Taylor’s Gold. And definitely better than (not comparable to) anything I have tasted from USA stores. I have been in a long search for the perfect tea, and have found it here.

For those who like a very dark and strong brew. A bit tannic for me. I prefer PG Tips.

This is the real thing, authentic and high quality Irish Breakfast Tea. Worth the money if you're sick of lipton or other American teas.

It makes a good strong, full bodied ,traditional cuppa. I keep hearing that tea bags are full of microplastics so l go bought myself a teapot with a central reservation for the loose tea and l now use Barry's tea. No need for a strainer, no yukky weak tea.

My Irish friends are right, Barry’s Tea ticks all the boxes! If you love a decent, flavourful and good strong cuppa, then you have it here! A little pricey but being such a strong brew a little goes a long way! Well worth the expense!
