A Must Have!! Will play everything on a tv!!!
Works great and it allows you to watch anything from your iPhone on any TV that has a HDMI port! Some people on here say it doesn’t for some reason let you watch streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, or just any app that streams any video content) but it’s just simply not true! On any TV that has an HDMI port, which it’s insanely rare that you will even own or use a TV that does not have an HDMI port, you will 100% be able to watch anything on TV with this device that you can watch on your iPhone. I even watch DIRECTV through my DIRECTV app on any TV. It’s a must have especially in a place where there is not a internet connection like in rural areas or just any place with no internet. It just all depends on the type of service you get though if there is no internet connection. But, it all boils down to if you can watch it on your iPhone then you can watch it on a tv with this device. It just simply mirrors whatever is showing up on your iPhone screen. So, as soon as you plug it into your iPhone and then plug it into the TV you will immediately see whatever your screen on your iPhone is displaying! I take this with me every time I travel just Incase the hotel, vacation home, lakehouse, or anywhere that might not have internet, good Wi-Fi signal, or just Incase the place I’m at happens to loose internet service for a while or something? Just remember to invest in a lengthy hdmi cord so you can use it while you are in bed or sitting on the couch. If you do not want to buy a lengthy HDMI cord and you have two at your house then you can always buy an hdmi extension adapter to make two smaller hdmi cords just one longer hdmi cord to help reach wherever you are at. Buy, I highly recommend buying both (lengthy hdmi cord and extension adapter) so in case you go on a trip and the cord isn’t quit long enough you can just add another one from the place you are at, that is if they have another one? I bought a 15’, 20’, and even a 25’ hdmi cord and I have to say the 25’ cord is the one use the most because it’s never not long enough and I always can use the device while I’m in bed or wherever very comfortably. Lastly, since it has a charging port on it which is the best part I might add due to the battery consumption that streaming videos takes up on a phone. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to buy a iPhone chargrging cord (usb to lightning cord) that is much longer than the standard iPhone charging cord. If you want to use the long hdmi cord to use it while in bed or on the couch and you don’t have it charging then it’s pointless to even use the long hdmi cord or even the device itself. You don’t want to be using this and then go out and your phone is almost dead or if you want to use the device to watch something on the tv and your phone is almost dead. My point is you never know where the outlets are going to be in a place you have never been and you are wanting to have it on the nightstand or just close to you so you don’t have to get up and go hit pause, play, or switch to something else to watch. I hope this was thorough enough and helps answer any questions some of you might have. But, I promise this plays any streaming app your tv so please do not listen to anyone saying that it doesn’t because they are for some reason lying or they just have no idea what they are talking about?! Alright, have a great day!!

Great product - read review for examples of uses
This is an amazing little device - very simple and effective. The old versions of this device were cluncky, and it was hard to tell what they really were (chargers, composite cables, a hair ball of cables and a cube, etc.), and more importantly, how to use them. This version would make Steve Jobs proud. This product integrates with your existing stuff, use it on your phone to send/cast video to any device that takes input from an HDMI cable. It may help if I give a few examples on how we use this little gem. When on vacation, we use this, along with a spare HDMI cable, to bring movies on our phones as well as Netflix and Amazon prime to the hotel TV. Enough renting over priced movies from the hotel. The key to doing this is to take control of the TV from the hotel's network. I recommend finding the IP cable and unplug it, this will usually free up the TV, and allow you to change inputs. You obviously want HDMI 1 to allow it to cast what's on your phone. Be aware that Apple will cancel the feed if they think you're illegally projecting protected content (in this case you're not - you're just projecting content you have licensed to a larger screen). This review isn't about hacking TVs, but I'm quite good at it. I travel with a universal remote, access codes, and a couple of screwdrivers. We also use this product to cast movies, Netflix and Amazon prime onto our car's touch screen. My daughter has a new Homda HR-V and it accepts an HDMI cable. Connect this to you phone, connect an HDMI cable to this and you car's input, and you streaming video in seconds. A cool feature of this is that it has an input for a charging cable. This means you can charge your phone as you use it to cast video to your hotel, home TV or car touch screen. This newer product is so much more versatile, compact, and practical that the old versions (which I should state I loved). the old versions were great, but I really love this product! When you travel, throw this in the car along with a 3' HDMI cable and you'll have excellent flexibility in cast video. Many hotels are getting with technology and allow for use of these products. It's customer friendly, and prevents a maintenance call when the guy before you, hacks the rooms TV, and forgets to put the TV back when they checkout. I hope you found this review helpful!

Works great on my iPhone 8 Plus
I was looking for this adapter for a long time. Dish was charging me through the nose for their service and I just had to cut back on hemorrhaging money so I gave this adapter a try. I cut off my Dish service and saved a bundle by using this adapter. I got a good deal from ATT on DirectvNow and I use this adapter to mirror my phone to our 65" Samsung TV. I also have a Netflix account and mirror that on to the TV. And of course my Amazon Prive videos also mirror perfectly on the TV. I did some research and found a website of apple geeks that published an article on this adapter. they took one apart and tested the components. This little adapter has an actual micro chip much like a CPU inside which takes the output from the phone and sends it as HDMI to a TV or other screen with an HDMI input. According to the article there is software in the chip which essentially makes the transition from the iPhone output to HDMI. It also sends the audio. Because of that you should take care not to make a mistake and plug it somewhere where it will get zapped by an electric current. If you burn out the micro chip you can render the device worthless. I would protect it from a strong magnetic field also just in case. I have noticed that when first plugged in the video quality is very poor but slowly gets up to HDMI. I don't know what causes this but it doesn't bother me at all. I just keep watching and the picture gets sharp within a couple of minutes. I bought this adapter four months ago and it still works flawlessly. Once in a while it takes the iPhone a while to recognize the adapter which is kind of frustrating since all you get is a black screen. I found that it works best if plugged into the phone before you go from locked to unlock. It seems to recognize the adapter better. The adapter is recognized as an iPhone accessory and it is controlled through the screen mirroring app in the iPhone. You swipe from the bottom of the screen up and the screen mirroring controller will appear with the other available control for the iPhone. There have been times when the connection is lost and I have to play with the adapter and iPhone to get the connection going again. I'm not sure whether it is the adapter or the phone doing that. All in all I love this adapter and hope it lasts a long time. I am getting one for my wife also since she keeps stealing mine and we watch different programs. I would definitely recommend this adapter to anyone looking to watch Netflix, DirectvNow, amazon and youtube from their iPhone on a TV or monitor. It has worked great for me. And it is a genuine Apple accessory. That's why it works when the knock offs don't.

It just works...
So let's just lay some facts out on the table right now. It's an Apple product which means it's of good to high quality craftsmanship. It's official which means it will definitely work with your Apple product (IPod, IPhone, iPad, ect). And being an Apple product, it's gonna be 2-4x the price of every other like similar item on the market. But here's the deal, there isn't any similar item on the market, not exactly (and I bet Apple knows this). Do an Amazon search and see how many items are exactly like this, minus the Apple name. Currently, zero. Actually, I had one in my cart for quite some time, but just kept dragging my feet in the purchase. It was exactly like this adapter, except it wasn't made by Apple and... the price fluctuated from $18-20. Recently when I decided I should buy it, it was gone. Poof, vanished like the waiter at Cracker Barrel. I'm no conspiracy theorist (although I do think the moon landing was faked to fund research in Area 51) but it's not uncommon for powerful companies to sue and/or buy up the competition. My guess is that the product I saw infringed upon Apple's trademarks and copyrights and after a few phone calls, it was MIA. So, currently Apple has a corner on the market and it shows. $50 is a stupid amount of money for an item that honestly probably costs $1.29 to produce. But venture onward before writing it off on price and trying to save $30-40 (and yes, that's the mark up over "competing" products. Honestly, no one, including me, wants to drop $50+ for something so simple to design and manufacture. But before you pull the trigger on that Samsuit Feel Right Pro HDMI Adapter 2000, take a few minutes to read the specs, method of operation and a few reviews. Many of these cheaper alternatives require a Hotspot. The fine writing on some state that it won't work with certain apps, networks, cell services, etc. When you consider the relative simplicity of what these devises should be doing, it's amazing how much they don't do and/or some of the hoops you need to jump through to get it working. Which brings us to this Apple adapter. Mine showed up in the standard, white, Apple box. If you've ever bought an Apple product, you know the one. There were no instructions, just the adapter (but with something so simple an orangutan could operate, why include instruction? One lighting connection that plugs into your Apple device. One socket to plug in your HDMI cable (that plugs into your tv/monitor). And away we go. It's that simple. The device takes over and displays whatever is on your IOS screen on your tv. There is also another port on the adapter to plug in a lightening cable for charging your Apple device, but it's not needed (as long as you have a decent charge). I've watched whole movies off my IPad and only used a few percent charge. Seriously, the hardest part about setting the whole thing up is changing your tv display to HDMI in (read your manual if you don't know how). I haven't read all of the 4,000+ reviews on this adapter, so I don't know if it's been mentioned, but the other day I pulled a movie up on my IPad that didn't have a full screen ratio (black lines on top/bottom). My tv is the correct ratio and when the movie displayed on the screen, it displayed full screen. I've watched a bunch of movies, and it seems that regardless the format, it always adjusts to give me the max display image. A little plug for Amazon Prime here, but the main reason I bought this adapter was to watch Prime Video (and a little YouTube) on my tv, and I have not been disappointed. I'm an also attest that my aunt bought the same adapter to display Netflix from her iPhone to a tv and it works flawlessly. The only caveat I have is that the plastic on this adapter doesn't seem quite as strong as other Apple products I've own/owned. It may just be my imagination though. I'd say that if you don't take it on any Everest expeditions or just it to prop up a bookcase, it'll probably give you a year of use... I mean, after all, that is how long until Apple comes out with another another connection type effectively rendering this item useless for all future products. Let's just be honest here. Five stars for simplicity of use and design. Minus one star for the Trump price tag. Enjoy it while you can.

The Genuine Apple Lightning to HDMI Adapter just works. Forget the rest, get the best!
TL;DR Get the genuine Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter...the headache of a knock off is not worth the small difference in price! Trust me, I went the knock off route! This genuine Apple device is plug and play, no connecting/reconnecting cables, juggling HDMI cable and power cord. It just works. Every time. No BS, no issues. It also works fine WITHOUT the lightning power cable connected! The knockoff would not function without the power cable connected. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Long story longer: I bought a knock off first: (VALOIN Compatible with iPhone to HDMI Adapter Cable, Digital AV Adapter 1080P HDTV Connector Compatible with iPhone X 8 7 6Plus, iPad, iPod to TV Projector Monitor Sold by: ValoinUS $16.98) And it was a nightmare. Just never worked consistently. Sometimes picture the first time, most times not. Connecting and reconnecting cables, juggling HDMI cable and power cord. Sometimes connected immediately, sometimes after repeated tries, many times not at all and got put away n frustration. Reason I am putting this info here is that the review I posted on the Valoin page is nowhere to be found! Just Q&A for chargers, routers, everything under the sun BUT the faulty adapters they sell. Wonder how someone can put reviews and links to all of the seller's other wares? When sorted by "most recent", you get *real people/real names* like: ghjghk jennifer Hilthjkhjkh Melissa Gilljkljk Enough said.

Great Apple Lightning To Digital AV Adapter
This Apple Lightning To Digital AV (HDMI) adapter is the real deal for this one. I have ordered two different “Apple Certified” generic adapters at a much cheaper price previously but “They Did Not Work”. Picture would not come in clearly or would not work hardly at all. This “Actual Apple Adapter” works perfectly. Yes it costs much more but it works as it should. Generic products just don’t seem to work with Apple products such as IPhone, IPads and etc. When I hooked this adapter to my IPhone and HDMI to a TV it automatically did an update and whatever was showing on phone screen came on with a perfect picture. From my phone I was able to view or watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, Peacock, Paramount Plus , Pluto TV and whatever being viewed on my IPhone. I plan on using this adapter to view different apps from my phone to TV in my travel trailer where no internet or wifi available. Will stream from phone when needed. It is definitely worth spending more for this actual “Apple” brand adapter because it actually works.

Works with Hulu!! Yay!!
I had one of these adapters years ago that I used to watch Hulu on my tv (from my iPad mini), but I lost it. I recently purchased another seller's versions of this adapter, but it didn't work with Hulu and I had to return it, as it was useless to me. I am so happy to say this one called "Apple Lightening to Digital AV Adapter" does work to transmit my Hulu screen from my iPad mini to my HDMI tv. *Happy Camper Here!!*
