Great bass highly recommended
This is a smooth bass, passive pic ups Humbucker are good and nice fretboard layout. It’s a good weight but Dean makes good affordable bass guitars that are good even without active pickups I recommend this bass for a 6 string. I have played it at two different services and got compliments. Nice finish tuning stays well and it’s comfortable. I will use this bass more and put down my 5 string stingrays and Squire for a bit both which have active pickups . At 269$ it’s a great deal. Don’t need to spend $800 to impress on the bass if u know what u are doing

Dean Edge six string bass…
Though open box, bass body was perfect condition. Good intonation, action and hardware. Arrived sooner than expected.

Plays and sounds well but...
The only thing good about this bass is that it sounds good which possibly is the only thing that matters to you. The sad part is that it had multiple dents when it arrived and the colour is nothing like the one in the photo. The back plate also had a lot of scratches. It’s a lot more redish. I would recommend buying it in person.

Horrible personally just avoid dean
I got this for my birthday and I got rid of it after only about 4 months of playing it. I understand it is cheep, but I barely tapped the body, and it dented deep. The hardware is atrocious; the frets were not leveled what so ever, the bridge was in the wrong position, and even the price of the pickups is mid. Maybe it's because I'm used to my Fender Custom 60s p and emg Geezers, but compared to my closest match, a peavy grind, the pickups suck, and in my opinion, the neck feels horrible. Overall, this thing manages to be lower quality than a low-end Harley Benton, and that’s absolutely horrific. Even if you get a flawless model, I can’t recommend it because, with Dean's quality control, it's a gamble. Purchase at your own risk.

This Bass Delivers
I was looking for a new bass, and it was between this or the low-end Ibanez. I've never cared much for Ibanez products, personally; and I had an excellent Dean Evo years ago. The Dean won on that alone. The finish is beautiful, the neck is thinner than I'd expected, and it sounds great. I know a lot of people give reviews qualified with "for the price" but I think this is an excellent bass full stop. It doesn't bother me, but if you don't like light instruments, you may not light this one. After a couple of weeks of letting it acclimatise, I did a set up on it, dropped the action a lot, and it plays well. The lowered action helps with the wide neck, but this is a personal preference. I do have a small complaint: the fretwork on mine was a little rough. This is no doubt a byproduct of the price point, and not a deal breaker for me. I've felt worse fret work on more expensive low-end guitars and basses at retailers. When Dean says the "Edge 1 6 bass may have a price point that is generally found with lesser quality instruments but once you put your hands on this and plug it in, you will be taken back" they delivered.

once fixed no problem
mine had a slight short in a wire (30 bucks) in which the neck PU would dissappear. once fixed and with a string change this low priced 6 string sounds great. i put tapewounds on mine and i get clean wonderful , morose, dark tones. not shabiilly made.

Don't waste your money
Qatar does not playing right out of the box. Needs a lot of work. Also, way too heavy. Very, very white neck.
