This was my first experience with the Kirlin brand. The cable ended up surprising me. The flexibility was on par with many other famous brands, and the build quality was exceptionally nice. Solid offshore connectors with good strain relief, and field serviceable (which is always at the top of my list). The cable handles well, coils up nicely and does not retain an excessive amount of memory. It is very quiet in my application. Would not hesitate to purchase again!

The snake I ordered was 1M in length, roughly 10 ft. The loose part of the cables near the ends have a zip tie. I plan to remove these and replace them with a hook and loop strip after I get the snake measured for use. The cut ends of the zip tie sometimes cut my hands. The description doesn't specifically state what gauge the wire is, but most snakes are made with 24 AWG wire. I checked each connection with an XLR cable tester and each pair passed. The only issue was a single male connector that had a slightly bent pin that wouldn't fit in the the tester. I was able to bend it back into position and test the cable with no issues. I measured the resistance of a sample of wires and consistently measured 30 ohms. I would prefer 25 ohms but my other 10 ft snake measures around the same, and I've had no issues with its audio quality. The label numbers are on the wire sleeves and not on the connectors. They are a single black number over a white background. It would have been a nice feature to have the number printed on at least two sides. The numbers are large and easy to read, and above all, accurately placed. The cables also have numbering, tho not as easy to read, but useful in case the label is removed or unreadable. The snake is a bit heavier than my other 10-footer, almost by a full pound. I plan to use the snake at gigs, so lighter is better. Overall, this is a good quality cable. Only a few small things about it I didn't like, but nothing insurmountable.

This excellent and reasonably priced snake is perfect for recording studio use. The connectors are solid and fit snugly and securely with mating cables. The audio is quiet and free of distortion. Each cable in the snake is well marked with large labels. Recommended!

Kirlin never disappoints. I’ve used their cables for years, as does my church. I use their cables live, and I bought this Xlr snake for my in ear rig. Simply can’t be beat, especially for the price. Just bought another.
